A lot of you are in Utah. A lot of you are in the Salt Lake Valley. Today there are many cities that are having primary elections for City Councils, etc. If you are so inclined, get out and vote! If you're not so inclined, go vote anyway.

Taylorsville residents:

If you're in T-Ville and you're not sure who to vote for, let me give you my two cents, as I have been working with all of the candidates for the last year and a half.

District 1 your choices are:
  • Ernest Glen Burgess
  • John E. Gidney
  • Israel M. Grossman

I would strongly recommend Ernest Burgess. He is a bit long winded and annoying, but he is very thorough. That is, he won't make any rash decisions based upon peer pressure or pressure from other members of the council. He will not be bullied and has shown it time and time again. I do like the other two candidates as well, but but Earnest is the best choice imo.

District 2 your choices are:
  • William J. (Bill) Forsgren
  • Kristie Steadman Overson
  • Morris K. Pratt
  • Marsha Rosati-Dykes

I suggest re-electing Morris Pratt. Not only has he proven himself over his last term, he has shown a willingness to work that far exceeds expectations. For example, while the rest of the council was sitting on their thumbs this budget season, Morris was taking hours and hours of his own time going over the budget with a fine-toothed comb. Every single week he would find errors in the budget, often huge mistakes, that would've gone right through if he hadn't taken the time to do his job thoroughly. To top it off, he's a hell of a nice guy. I heartily endorse him, and hope to work with him in the future. That being said, Kristie Overson is also a solid pick. She has a ton of experience with the city and has sat on several boards over the last ten years. She's a bit too much of a "City Man", but she'd do a decent job.

District 3 your choices are:
  • Dave Ballou
  • Daniel Steven Isham
  • Jerry W. Rechtenbach

Clearly, I would vote for myself. You all know my politics. Honesty, integrity, and passion are rule #1. I will fight to make sure that -- PEOPLE > The Council/Mayor -- After all, isn't that the ethical and moral obligation of an elected official? Jerry is an eight year incumbent, which means he has had eight years to become a loathsome politician. The reason I got involved in the first place was because I was tired of my suggestions, complaints, and concerns being put on the back burner so my councilman could help out his buddies and his big campaign contributors first. The Trout will not stand for this kind of aggression, man.

So there you have it. Go out and vote. Or not.

Deepest and warmest regards,

Dave.

Good luck fishass. I would stuff the ballot box if I lived in your district, then come to every single council meeting to bitch.

I live in LA, so we're used to our politicians being useless piles of %^$#, but good luck. If you win I hope you'll stay true to your principles.

Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.

Oh no, I ain't fallin' for that again. The first three times didn't turn out so well. Besides, I think Ann is getting jealous. She already threatened to kick my *** if I didn't stay away from you, and the last thing I need is a pissed off Asian chick raining down her ninja wrath on me like Bruce Lee.

I don't understand why it's a big deal that if you're elected you would be working alongside your father in law.

Nice man, and I didn't even have to stuff the ballot box. Congratulations!
