I'd guess the Jazz-Tomic fit is the problem much more so than him not wanting to come to Utah.

That was my take too. Gobert and Favors being established would affect his playing time. Plus this was all speculation by Sam Meyerkopf. There was nothing from Tomic himself.
 
The hypothetical 4th pick would be the aforementioned king's ransom. I'd trade him and the 12 for the 4 pick even if he wanted to play here.

But if you can't get much for him I wouldn't trade him just because he wants to play in the NBA but not for the Jazz. That sets a bad precedent.
The problem is, I doubt a team would trade a high pick for Tomic and the #12. It's a HUGE gamble because Tomic isn't a lock to come over and a team can't talk to him about a contract before July 1st.
