The key to losing is on defense and playing young guys predominantly with the bench unit. For example, playing Brice, Flip and Love together is going to give up a lot on defense, since they don't rotate well and Love isn't a paint presence.

There will be possibly a record number of teams having winning percent under 30% so it's gonna be hard to be bottom five, even if the defense is as bad it is for the Jazz. Even 6th worst pingpong ball slot would be quite worrying.
 
We did this to ourselves. Should've gone for the playin in 2024 to have a shot at conveying the pick to OKC in a historic weak draft instead of tanking towards the end to keep our 10th pick and take Cody.

Could have just taken Matas. Also, could have tanked harder and had a chance at someone like Castle. I think they made the right call... they just once again timed it incorrectly.

There is a chance the rebuild ends up having a lower ceiling than anticipated. The half assed tank years will be the major culprit.

It looks like there are 9 teams starting to separate from the pack.

East:

Hornets: 4 wins
Nets: 3
Wizards: 2
Pacers: 2

West:

Jazz: 5
Clippers: 5
Kings: 5
Mavs: 5
Pelicans: 3

Grizzlies with 7 wins are on the bubble but they are trending in the right direction.

We need to finish bottom 6 to keep our pick. I think we are very much in the tank even if it comes late in the season. But we probably need to finish bottom 5 to not gift OKC the pick. Its going to be interesting how we manage that. At what point do we initiate a real tank?

It’s not about being good but too good to tank and with Lauri and Keyonte killing it, even with horrendous defense, we’re too good.
