Ya I misread wouldn’t for would. My bad.

Other than defense what potential has he shown? Looks minimal to me.

1. I’m not confident he can gain 15 lb’s and keep it on. 2. What is 2-3 years going to do. He isn’t even showing anything offensively also he might need to add more than 15 lbs and keep it on. I know AK never could.
I know you hated the pick and so on.... but the last part is just silly. His father and older brother both have pretty sturdy frames, and while sharing genetics is not conclusive evidence he is gonna have a similar frame, its definitely enough of a reason to at least hold hope and not throw out AK's name.

Almost every recent NBA champion had 1-2 superstars and 2-3 better-than-average players for their positions (i.e. top-15 players). These are players like Aaron Gordon, Brook Lopez, Kristaps Porzingis, Khris Middleton. It does not look that the rebuilding Jazz found their superstar yet but did they at least find their future great role players and if so, how many?

I looked at the available current ranking by position and compiled the lists of players who are consistently ranked in the 11-15 range. Please take a look at them and then vote how likely each of the young Jazz players is to reach that level for their position.

Current top 11-15 players by position (most commonly mentioned):

Centers - Turner, Zubac, Allen, Vucevic.

Power forwards - Randle, Jaren Jackson Jr., Keegan Murray, Kyle Kuzma

Small forwards - Michael Porter Jr., Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Zach LaVine

Shooting guards - Beal, Vassell, CJ McCollum, Herro

Point guards - LaMelo Ball, James Harden, Cade Cunningham, Jamal Murray
Interesting question. Will they make top 15... I think only guys I'd bet on are Kessler and Flip. Could they... Key as a SG and Tay Henny as a PF (assuming health) I'd say yes they could but not likely.

So why aren’t there body types similar now? I’ll tell you why because they have different body types doesn’t matter that their blood.

What on earth does Cody's brother have to do with him? There's been tons of good NBA players whose brothers sucked in the league and either flamed out or went on to toil in the G League or overseas. Many of them were pretty much drafted only because of name recognition or nepotism.

There's no guarantees either way, or course. But let’s stop talking as if Cody's development is following some path laid out by his bro.
Well genetically he has a decent chance of some similarities. His bother was pretty skinnys and filled out okay later, which is a major concern about him on here.

But I agree there are no guarantees either way. So no idea why some of y'all have already called him a bust and hate on him so much.

Cody's brother has the same amount of relevance as Flip's brother or anyone else's brother that isn't even in the NBA.

Kessler is the only guy I voted on getting there. Flip has a chance and so does Key....there's such a high standard for average NBA PG's though and I see Flip as more of a glue guy which I'm not sure amounts to a top 15 player at his position. I'd be over the moon if any of the others get there, don't think it will happen though.

Oh my lord you are a piece of work. Jalen is 3.5 YEARS older.

He was a 3 year college player who was described as "having an awkward body thats all arms and legs" in his HS scouting report.

This is him at almost exactly Cody's age (19 years and 9 months):

It's a little bit nit picky, but I really don't like the title of the thread vs the question in the thread. I personally substituted the word ,"could" instead of "will" for the question and it helped me answer the poll.

I don't think any of our guys are super likely to be top 15 guys, so gun to my head, "will they" I would answer no to all of them. All of these guys are still very young though and have a huge amount of development so "could" they get to that point, then I think the majority of them could. I answered yes to Kessler, Keyonte, and Cody as those are the guys I think are most likely.

Don’t buy into the brother fallacy. Look at the Holidays… 3 very different bodies. Getting the worse brother has been mostly a miss.

If Cody shoots it well he will be a nice NbA wing even if he doesn’t fill out like Jalen.

No one is saying he will become Jalen. Just pointed out that suggesting he cannot fill his frame and throwing out AK's name is not it.

At this point, I'd be happy if he filled out like Jerami Grant. He needs to build his base especially

I don't really worry about the frame. I think there are very few guys that can't fill out and get stronger. AK could have filled out and kind of did but he could have filled out better. I think the shot will be the biggest thing. If he is a 40% three point shooter. He should be a decent NBA wing. He has enough toolsy stuff and defense to be at least a solid bench rotation wing.
