Top Five Worst Obamacare Taxes Coming in 2013

If you go to the Office of Management and Budget and look at yearly expenditures you'll see that Bush averaged 2.6 trillion per year whereas the 2 years that they report for Obama thus far is 3.5 trillion per year. I suspect that this average will stay similar if not increase. Especially once Obamacare kicks into full gear. Your report looks at percentages rather than actual dollars. Actual dollars spent under Obama far exceed Bush. While Bush spent like a drunken sailor, Obama is spending like he has 2 weeks to live and doesn't care.

Then there was that whole campaign promise about cutting the deficit in half in 4 years...

Obama is also getting at least an extra $40bln in revenue from the Federal Reserve this year since they're financing all this, and he benefits from HUGE interest rate savings & neglible SS or Fed worker pay increases. But who gives a damn about a little integrity in the analysis?

Read this thread before logging in. Reminded me of why Thriller is on ignore. I see him tossing around "your president" a lot. I got news for you numb nuts. He was every Americans president. Ou may not like that but it doesn't change the fact that he was your president. Same goes for those idiots that say "Obama isn't my president". Dumb ****s.

The Obamacare Medical Device Tax – a $20 billion tax increase: Medical device manufacturers employ 409,000 people in 12,000 plants across the country. Obamacare imposes a new 2.3 percent excise tax on gross sales – even if the company does not earn a profit in a given year. In addition to killing small business jobs and impacting research and development budgets, this will increase the cost of your health care – making everything from pacemakers to prosthetics more expensive.

They conveniently leave out the fact that Obamacare is also pouring trillions of dollars into the industry through expanded coverage. I suspect manufacturers that really need to pass this cost on to their consumers will be eliminated through competitive pricing - as they should be.

The Obamacare “Special Needs Kids Tax” – a $13 billion tax increase: The 30-35 million Americans who use a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) at work to pay for their family’s basic medical needs will face a new government cap of $2,500 (currently the accounts are unlimited under federal law, though employers are allowed to set a cap).

I love what they're calling this - "Special Needs Kids Tax" - as if Grover Norquist ever gave a **** about kids with special needs. Come to NJ and see all the wonderful things Republican hero Chris Christie is doing for kids with special needs through massive funding cuts. As for the tax, FSA's were one of the few good things to come out of the Bush years. I've used them; but only about $500 or so for co-pays for my wife and son. As for myself, other than check ups (which now have no copay) I've been to the doctor twice in the past 20 years. Once for a a cracked rib playing b-ball in 2000 and another time for a kidney stone in 2009. I suggest you fat ****s put down the chicken wing and get some exercise and you might be like candrew some day.

The Obamacare Surtax on Investment Income – a $123 billion tax increase: This is a new, 3.8 percentage point surtax on investment income earned in households making at least $250,000 ($200,000 single).

Investment income has been heavily favored over my wages for the last 30 years - forgive me if I don't bust up crying over this one.

The Obamacare “Haircut” for Medical Itemized Deductions – a $15.2 billion tax increase: Currently, those Americans facing high medical expenses are allowed a deduction to the extent that those expenses exceed 7.5 percent of adjusted gross income (AGI). This tax increase imposes a threshold of 10 percent of AGI. By limiting this deduction, Obamacare widens the net of taxable income for the sickest Americans. This tax provision will most harm near retirees and those with modest incomes but high medical bills.

No doubt about it - this is gonna kick some people in the pants. However I imagine my state level deduction (which, unlike federal, lets you include premium payments because they're not pre-tax) will stay the same. It also bears mentioning that under Obamacare you can't be turned downed for pre-existing conditions; which is why many of these people had to make massive out-of-pocket payments in the first place.

The Obamacare Medicare Payroll Tax Hike -- an $86.8 billion tax increase: The Medicare payroll tax is currently 2.9 percent on all wages and self-employment profits. Under this tax hike, wages and profits exceeding $200,000 ($250,000 in the case of married couples) will face a 3.8 percent rate instead. This is a direct marginal income tax hike on small business owners, who are liable for self-employment tax in most cases. The table below compares current law vs. the Obamacare Medicare Payroll Tax Hike:

See #3 - boo ****ing hoo.

Besides, all of this is a very small price to pay in exchange for free birth control for red states.

So Bush starts 2 unfunded wars, expands Medicare, and then right before leaving office decides to give the banks a trillion dollar bailout. All of this unfunded.

Obama steps into office, well into the worst recession since the great depression, and has to somehow pay for all of this stuff that Bush did.

And somehow republicans are complaining about Obama's spending because of this?

Let's be fair here. Take out the 2 wars, the Medicare expansion, and the bank bailout (all stuff Obama didn't do, was just asked to pay for what was already done by the previous guy). Add in the obamacare (if it's not already added in). And how does Obama's spending look at that point? How does Bush's look at that point?

This is pretty much moot anyway, as just about everyone is now realizing that Romney never had a chance. Throughout all the flip flopping, unpatriotic actions like draft dodging in France, hiding money in the Cayman Islands, outsourcing, and the many gaffes, the one thing that put the final nail in the coffin was a leaked video where Romney expressed his true feelings.

Now let's see a graph that makes allowances for past presidents as well.
I mean, if we're going to look at a graph that conveniently omits dollars related to the stimulus spending, then why not play what-ifsies with the others?

Also, do you believe that had Obama NOT spent the trillions on the stimulus, that he would have hung tough with th other spending? Of course not.

The graph is flawed on its face and worthless.

Hilarious! Your President would routinely leave out the costs of the 2 wars from his budget. If anything, that graph should be far worse for your President!

Again, I'm still waiting for a repub to answer this...

Where were you during the 8 years of Bush?

Where were your concerns over growing government and huge deficits during 8 years?

Where were your concerns over paying for 2 wars? Medicare Part D? The tax cuts which weren't creating jobs but huge deficits?

Where were the concerns over destroying the Constitution when it came to Pat Act and NCLB? It was just a piece of paper then but all of a sudden holy writ once a black Democrat came into the white house.

Repubs, you've been called out. It's high noon and I'm beginning to think ya'll yella!

Are you really going to dodge these questions... AGAIN?!

And yet, you respond to my posts more that I'm on your ignore list more than before! LOL

So we still have a few nutjobs bitching about obamacare? I thought we were past that already?

Once the nation started to understand what obamacare really is, the bitching disappeared and people even started to praise it.

The communist, socialist, african, muslim, nazi... With his death panel health care plan... It's pretty much been debunked at this point.

Investment income has been heavily favored over my wages for the last 30 years - forgive me if I don't bust up crying over this one.

This simply is not true and shows the dangers of the Obama mentality heading up this country. There are solid reasons behind the lower capital gains tax rates compared to earned income, but they don't sound good mixed into populist rhetoric telling us we're getting screwed by Richie Rich. Your income has built in credits and deductions that heavily favor the middle to lower end of income. It also does not require a deflator to come to the true tax rate as capital gains does. There is a very good chance of capital paying punitive tax rates on nominal capital gains that puts a paper return into negative territory in real terms.

An example to demonstrate: You buy 100% of the stock in a RE owning corporationfor $200,000,000. The value appreciates at the rate of inflation, say 4%, for 10 years and you sell the corporation for $296,000,000 and pay $14,400,000 in taxes (15%). Your paper return was $96,000,000 your real return was $0 before taxes, and negative $14,400,000/1.48 = $9,729,000 after taxes.

Obviously the higher ROIC above inflation the lower capital's tax burden and success is rewarded. A 7% return with inflation at 4% has a 30% real tax rate.

I don't know what the correct rate should be at today, but capital formation is critical to our economic success. A 30% rate is pretty heavy and raising this too much higher will push capital into more favorable environments. This means jobs losses for working class Americans.

This means jobs losses for working class Americans.
No it doesn't. It actually means more opportunities to "build something" in a free market

This is the problem with the right wing rhetoric. They present it as if the current large corporations and rich investors are the only ones the world could ever possibly have.

This is a free market. If someone wants to move their company to China, fine, someone else will be happy to take their place in America, and make plenty of money in the process.

Of course, we have to make sure we have a strong middle class so the corporations and investors can have success here. And we have to make sure companies that pack up and move to China can't sell their goods here without paying a hefty penalty too.

^^^ It's a safe assumption that you don't think Obama will stop the ridiculous pace of spending, right?

Do republicans realize that George Bush appointed the keynesian fed chief Ben Bernanke?

Do republicans even know what the fed chief does?

Just curious.

Do republicans live in some little fantasy world or what? Are they in denial? Do they ignore the facts?

I just dont get it. As soon as Obama took office, the economic problems have been his fault to them.

Do republicans even remember how the economic crisis went down? Do they even know that Bush started the big spending trend? Do they remember Bush signing the 700 billion dollar bank bailout(tarp)?

Its like I live in some kind of Bizzarro world where facts dont matter.

I hold no affiliation to either party. They are both the same to me. I just cant get over the utter ridiculousness of republicans right now.

Hilarious how all the same repub posters who never are at all of attacks and words are all of a sudden silent. They're scattered, like cockroaches, when called out on their BS.

It's no wonder why Socrates was condemned for merely asking questions and asking folks to explain their positions. Repubs here cannot defend their boys. All they can do is attack their opponents. When asked to defend their own boys (like Bushy or Mitty), or positions, or past decisions (like wars, tax cuts, Medicare Part D, etc) they run away. Every. Single. Time.

It's getting old Scat, PKM, etc. Getting old. Stop being partisan chicken hacks and answer the damn questions.

Like I said. I could care less for either party.

But I'll tell you what....

I am praying for Mitt Romney to win. I cant wait for that day. It will be like Christmas to me.

Why?

So I can start from day one and complain about how bad Romney has screwed the economy up. Even though he just walked right into it. I will blame everything on him. It will be the ultimate troll mission.

It wont be as good as the republicans troll job though. Because the stock market will be looking good and some other indicators will most likely be looking too, like housing. I'm thinking unemployment will still be high though. So I'll lead with that.

I can already see it now though. Republicans will try to claim credit to anything going good at the time from day one. That's how delusional these people are.

Or you can vote for the Paul Ryan plan. He can't get into the specifics of it all, so you'll just have
to take his word on it.

Every poll I have seen shows more people against "Obamacare" than for it.

Also that bolded part is pure insanity to me. With something so huge it should have been understood before it was passed.

Every political party always wants to take credit for any good thing happening. What else is new?
