This is a smart move from a business standpoint though. He is marketing himself and keeping himself relevant. We might think it's stupid, but Ron/World/Panda clearly gives 0 ****s about what anyone thinks.

Also, it's just a name. He isn't "reaching Rodman heights".
 
Actually, sorta disappointed. I thought the next name Mr. Artest would've chosen for himself would be a symbol, like the artist formerly known as Prince.

I agree if I had the luxury to be ridiculous all the time I would just for the joy of it.

Charlemagne The Bald
Moses Double Jesus
Captain Fancy Pants
The Mule
Sleeping Hobo
 
Makes sense. If you think about it, he really does bear a resemblance to a panda: round head, small ears - I can see it.


Notice too, my use of the word bear. Appropriate, no?
 
I was driving in LA traffic when a Mrs. Trout read me this. I literally belly laughed for five minutes. I'd stop, recover, say his name out loud, and then burst into laughing again. After a minute of this, all three of my girls were laughing out loud along with me. It was fantastic.
