Trade deadline discussion

I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually don't hate this idea.

He'd play some defense, move the ball, make an occasional 3ball and throw a lob or two to our bigs. He knows Quin's system. The alternative would be trading for a guy like Josh Richardson at $13M and have to give up Ingles or Clarkson. I'd rather trade Ingles or Clarkson for a bigger piece.

We have to be 100% certain about our med team or the man would be ded the moment he land in SLC

Cam Reddish and Christian Wood can provide the same length, athleticism and shooting as Grant at a lower cost.
If the reports are true that Reddish is available for a first I’d be all over that. Kid is just scratching the surface and is a functional 3 and D guy now. I doubt the reports are true otherwise I’d have thought a team would jump at that.

he also has some Jordon Clarksonism in him. 33pts tonight with 8 threes after going 1 for 11 over his last two. The kid's just not shy.

I watched part of the game. He doesn’t get to do much with Trae out there… a lot of sitting in the corner and waiting for a pass. Had a couple nice drives. He’s just a live athletic body and his jumper looks pretty pure… if he figures some other stuff out his ceiling is pretty high.

Wood isn’t interesting to me unless he’s the only big on the court, obviously that’s not a natural fit with Gobert.

I’d be interested in Reddish, but I doubt we have the pieces to trade for him.

Wood played next to Drummond in Detroit and Olynyk in Houston. He can play next to another big, even though he's probably more effective on a completely spaced floor. The thing is, he's levels better than Rudy Gay right now.

He didn’t play a lot with Drummond in DET and only took off once Drummond was gone. His numbers were drastically better without him. That year in Detroit is great evidence for my stance on him.

Playing with Kelly Olynyk is not the same as playing with Gobert.

If the Jazz are going to blow their wad (I don’t think we even have a wad), I’m not doing it to get a better version of Rudy Gay who is way more tilted to being a 5 than a 4. No interest in Christian Wood for me.
