Trade deadline discussion

Randle, Barrett, Toppin and 2 firsts for Mitchell is not terrible either lmao. That is the exact type of deal we’d want especially getting rid of Clarkson in the deal as well.
I don't think the Jazz fanbase or FO would be happy with that trade. I think it would require Fournier and a couple more picks, and I still think the FO looks for something better.

Why would we want Fournier’s terrible contract?

Barrett is 21 and is averaging 18/6/3. Randle is an all-star. Toppin was just a top-10 pick. Plus 2 unprotected firsts. We can ask for pick swaps too.

We move off of Clarkson and his contract. We open up flexibility and gain assets back that we need. You are delusional.

If we traded Don to NY, I think it's because we are picking Rudy over him. Well, Fournier and Rudy are good friends from the French National Team.

I think it would be something like 3 or 4 1st round picks, Fournier, Barrett and somebody else (maybe Randle?).

But I just don't see us trading Donovan unless he wants to leave right now.

What do all of those picks instead of an all-star player do for us in the moment? We have to utilize this time of Rudy’s prime. Taking a young player plus just picks doesn’t help us win now. If we could get extra picks along with Randle like 3/4 like you said of course we go for it.

If we traded Donovan NY is not high on my list of potential trade partners. I give zero effs what Donovan wants if we are trading him and other teams will give more even if they know he wants to be in NY.

I agree.

I'm talking about the load that NY would sacrifice to get Donovan.

For it to make sense for us, we would have to involved a 3rd team. Maybe get Fournier and two picks while the other 2 picks turns into Jerami Grant. Something like that.

That’s fine we are just talking hypothetical trade values.

Unless you traded Donovan for Jaylen Brown I would just go ahead and say lets do a full tear down and rebuild. So trade Donovan and Rudy and everything else that is a win-now asset.

These are offseason moves conversations once we see how everything ends... and there is no way Ryan actually does the correct thing here. It would be viewed as running this **** into the ground immediately even if it was prudent.

I don't understand why we lose that much momentum if we do this trade right now:

Rudy, Joe, Clarkson and Gay
for
Brown, Horford and Smart
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yafwz9tl

Brown is disgruntled while Boston is rumored to have Horford and Smart on the table. Boston avoids the luxury with this deal, and they will save money next year too.

We switch to a perimeter defense oriented team with Donovan as our weakest defender. We could try to upgrade at center using other deals on the side.

Then that's another reason to trade Donovan and not Rudy (yet); Jazz will still be a winner with Rudy and what's left, even if they just got a ton of picks and a promising young player.

The reason you trade Rudy and Donovan is to stealth tank, but you're still probably not getting equal value coming back in.

Would rather trade neither and anyone in the room deciding to step up and put their foot down on all of this clown ****.

Because Boston says no. They love Williams.

Don't trade either guy yet. If you decide to trade one this offseason.... trade both of them.
