Trade deadline discussion

Then that's another reason to trade Donovan and not Rudy (yet); Jazz will still be a winner with Rudy and what's left, even if they just got a ton of picks and a promising young player.

The reason you trade Rudy and Donovan is to stealth tank, but you're still probably not getting equal value coming back in.
Y'all put way too much into the value of Rudy while simultaneously insulting the value of Donovan Mitchell.

It's funny or sad how much y'all put into the notion that Jazz basketball can only be played one way. I have faith that we can switch to something different and be good like we did when we went from Mark Eaton to something else.

Okay dude I don't know what you're talking about. The Jazz are a loser without Rudy and everyone on earth sees that. Spin that **** however you want, but it's the truth.

Just look at what Clarkson said about Rudy's public comments. Y'all are acting like Donovan is the only one irritated by Rudy.
Every damn game I’m cussing out the overall team defense because none of our perimeter defenders defend with any intensity or interest and act like they’ve never been taught the principles of help and rotating defense. This team with its play has been leaving Gobert out to dry for years. I would actually call what Gobert did miraculous restraint. JC can efff off. If only he tried as hard on defense as he does to score one on three every time he gets the ball.
If we traded Don to NY, I think it's because we are picking Rudy over him. Well, Fournier and Rudy are good friends from the French National Team.

I think it would be something like 3 or 4 1st round picks, Fournier, Barrett and somebody else (maybe Randle?).

But I just don't see us trading Donovan unless he wants to leave right now.
Wants to leave now, now or when his deal is up? Does it matter when? Yes, because we could get more now, and maybe not waste Goberts Prime. This is all hypothetical of course, but what a dumb statement for you to make, do you actually think Mitchell will sign another deal with Utah when the current deal ends?

I'm not spinning anything.

If we lost Rudy to an injury right now, yeah, we would probably limp to the playoffs and lose.

If we traded Rudy for value elsewhere on the roster, we aren't a "loser". That's an insult to Bojan, Mike, and the rest of the roster regardless of Donovan.

We wouldn't make the playoffs. Point blank.

Part of the problem with Rudy is that he's been tasked with cleaning up everyone else's garbage such that our team's habits are total dog ****. You can't just put another center in his place and expect the same or better results with this team. Certainly not this season.

I kinda agree, but your point that Smith didn't buy the team to be perceived as destroying it (not to mention the value he gets from gate receipts, merchandise, etc) is gospel.
Here is the thing though... what they have said repeatedly is if things don't go well everything is on the table... except trading Donovan.

Ever thought he might want to leave Rudy and where he plays doesn't matter?

If we traded Rudy Gobert for Jaylen Brown, we would miss the playoffs?

C'mon man. C'mon.
Can Jaylen Brown be an entire defense by himself and set screens that spring the whole offense?

The Jazz don't need to fall to the 9th seed, they just need to be in the 7th, which they are as close to as they are seeds above them. If they have a completely insolvent defense, I'm not sure how Jaylen Brown makes up for that such that they make it out of the play-in (what would be the point there anyway?).

No **** we wouldnt.

Our offense cant get any better, its already one of the best in the NBA and the defense is going to greatly suffer in Rudy gets dealt for that little in return.

Get the Planter's out your mouth.

So we have no other way to play basketball other than the funnel method and the screen method?

So is it hero worship of Rudy or are you bashing Quin's coaching ability?
