Trade deadline discussion

I think if anything happens it will be sort of like yesterday... surprising and catches us off guard. We are generally fairly tight lipped. I think the deal yesterday hints at two things:

1- there isn't an obvious deal that makes us better at a cost that seems appropriate.
2- We either think we are okay as is or don't think we are truly a contender.

All I expect is a deal where we send Juan somewhere by giving a second to save some money. Might not even be to OKC since they have 1 million seconds. Remember Cash Considerations is Ryan's favorite player.
Can we even trade Juancho again ?

We can trade him again now. What we can't is to use him now to aggregate salary for salary matching purposes on a separate deal. Still could posibly find a deal that used Juancho money and expand the current trade tho (but could posibly need to incentivize the other to come along and all teams need to "touch" each other in a multiple team trade)

If I was in an NBA front office I would play the ticking clock sound from the TV show 24 on a loop all day... build a real sense of urgency to make something happen.
We do this in manufacturing and less so in distribution but it is still used there, but we sometimes set up a countdown timer showing the takt time of the production line, essentially the rate of required production for one item. So if you are producing widgets and you need to finish one off the end of the line every 90 seconds we have a huge timer that everyone in that work cell can see counting down 90 seconds along with an incrementing counter showing how many we have done. It is pretty effective in helping to keep the line moving. So hey, worth a try for the FO stiffs.

So would Ainge, but with his heart attack it's indicative of other possible cardiovascular disease, including, but not limited to, erectile dysfunction.
Implants? Viagra?

Watching the Jazz last night... does anyone see Gay playing with that kind of energy? If the answer is no, then the Jazz should maybe look at bailing on the experiment. That energy is going to be the answer to small ball and I think Paschall can hang with gang rebounding. Year 3 of that contract is kind of a bummer.

Jazz brass lucked out by Joe getting injured, giving them perfect cover for their deal. They also got lucky about all the feel-goods that came out of last night's win to get Jazz Nation to not care that we didn't do anything else today besides dump more salary.

I like Butler, but with the NAW addition it's hard to see how this dude gets minutes in the next two years.

I think the Jazz are going to try and develop NAW right away given he's got a lot more experience than any of the other deep bench guys on the roster. Forrest is really coming along lately and has staked the claim for minutes. Clarkson is getting at least 25 mpg if he's on the roster. So where does that leave Butler?

If any move happens, I bet it's dealing Gay+Butler to get more LT relief. But Im leaning towards no deal happening.

Paschall is easily the worst rebounder on the team (given his tools). I dont trust gang rebounding around him that much.

It sucks because if he was a solid rebounder, I would pretty easily put him over Gay as a player.

Multi-team trade happening now...

Serge Ibaka to Milwaukee
Marvin Bagley to Detroit
Donte Divincenzo, Josh Jackson and our guy Trey Lyles to Sacramento
Semi Ojele and Rodney Hood going to the Clippers

Good move for the Bucks to get another big. The rest is meh.

If we’re looking to disguise a salary move with “getting a player,” then Hernangomez and two second rounders to Detroit for McGruder.
