Trade Deadline

I know Burke isn't worth much right now but just giving him away isn't the answer neither...

Exactly.
There's this summer. And if he improves again next season, he'd have even more value at the deadline. He's going to be a RFA, so a team won't necessarily see him as just an expiring contract.

He has looked disenchanted though. we very well may be looking at another Kanter situation. Strike while the iron is hot.

Lol. If DL didn't know Kanter wanted out and wasn't happy before that like you're implying, then he's the biggest idiot in the league. We've been over it, our return for Kanter sucked. Now can we please stop talking about it?

Of course he knew about it. Let's not forget, however, that Kanter's trade value was in the dumpster for a long time before he actually got moved. He started having some strong showings, including a couple of b2bs of something like 16/24 and 17/24 and managed to raise his value a bit, but by then his impending free agency was holding his value down. It's true that the return was disappointing, but let's not act like we could have gotten more by trading him sooner. A few months earlier and we likely would have gotten even less.

This is why I'd deal him now. I mean if we got the try Burke from the first 40 games I'd be happy keeping him... And he may be able to check back in, but I keep going back to how vocal his parents have been with their displeasure... His dad's his agent...

Also Anderson has value in a sign and trade or hell maybe we find we are amazing with him and shuffle some other pieces around to keep him. Lyles is developing but there are no guarantees he turns out awesome.

It's that time of year where every time I log into Jazzfanz I hope to see 300+ Viewing the forum to denote a trade.

I know what you mean. I check back every half hour or so. Guess nothing will happen tonight so I can get something else done.

Anybody have any ideas of what possible smaller trades we could do to help our bench depth and improve the team?

It means that a trade happening is more likely than not. I think

But how did they arrive at that number? Why not 55%? Or 67%?

Cause it's just a bs opinionated guess

This is not inaccurate. Let's be honest: 65% is definitely a guess, at best an educated guess. But it reflects my belief that the Jazz are likely, but not 100%, to make a trade this deadline. My belief is also backed up with some sourcing, though, like everyone, I don't know everything.

But basically, I have two choices here: to answer the question I get asked constantly, "Do you think the Jazz will make a trade?", or ignore it. I'm choosing to answer it to the best of my ability.

Would you say you are right more or less than 65% of the time?

FO likes it's team right now.

May be the case, but you should always try to upgrade when and where you can. Burke, Booker and Johnson can all be upgraded. Plus the Jazz have an open spot and plenty of room to sign someone who gets bought out for the remainder of the year.

I'd try to snatch PJ Tucker and Mirza Teletovic (although he is a UFA this Summer so probably not worth giving anything up) from the Suns. Weird but also Derrick Williams from the Knicks I think could help the bench but they probably don't want second-rounders and want some players.

I would LOVE ryan Anderson on the jazz.

He might be gone after this season but damn, he could really help us win games this year.

If we could get him for only burke and a pick or Burke and booker then hell yes! That's doubtful though.

Anderson would take bookers minutes and be quite an upgrade.

The jazz have been winning and looking good while Burke has been "sick"

For this season only, Anderson would be best case scenario imo

I would take Ryan Anderson or Bellinelli if we can get either fairly cheap.

Let's take two 3pt specialists like Teletovic and Belinelli! Teletovic is much cheaper than Anderson.

Come on DL there are plenty of players that are being shopped! Jazz needs a couple of good players to be a respectable team in the playoffs!
