Trade Gobert Discussion

1. He is our best player right now. Will he when we have to re-sign him in 2021?

2. It's not about who we get as much as something rather than nothing. OKC didn't want to lose Russ, but they got something. They cashed in.

3. Donovan is untouchable. He is the face of the franchise and unlike any young player we have ever had.

Damn, If we're gonna trade Rudy I'm all about trading Donovan right along with him. I don't see Donovan as untouchable at all. I mean in the context of a situation where we're trading Rudy.

If I had to pick one to keep, I keep Rudy (the first MF'R who links my Gobert thread needs to know I'm emotional and when I lash out I don't lash out at the low hanging fruit). Rudy Gobert is this team. Donovan is the rental in that scenario.

If you want to cash in don't do it on undervalued defense. Do it on inefficient offense. ****ing hell, are you even a real Jazz fan?

so the idea is to embrace the tank ?

if it is, problably would be the case to ship Jingles, Bogey, Conley and Donovan too, not just Gobert

Gobert might not push for the supermax even if he has earned it. If his priority and goal is to win, then he will probably be willing to negotiate a reasonable pay cut to leave room for talent. However contracts for deadweight players such as Exum must be reexamined and scrutinized and significantly downgraded (Also Conley's) for this to be feasible.

Yep, you're gonna blow it up you need to blow it all the way up.

Holy ****. Players have agents for a reason. The reason is so that they don't do stupid **** like what you're suggesting.

Geez this talk is a total overreaction ...

If you’re Portland or San Antonio, especially Portland , then I’d expect this...

Our mojo is so far out ...

To be down by 40 at the half to Toronto, then score 49 in one quarter shows a massive ability that we have ,yet we are no where near figureing this thing out , players or coaching staff

Funny, I got crucified when I commented about Rudy's instagram sendoff to Hayward, implying he needed to be careful because one day he might have to come to a similar decision and thereby putting his integrity at stake if he chose the same path.

As for agents, it works both ways... look at George Hill and Rodney Hood..

BTW..over react much ?

We can negotiate an extension with Rudy this offseason... if he declines then you can talk about trading him if you’d like... this is really premature and not something we’d even consider.

Also Rudy isn’t the problem... we just lost to a team that played with offensively limited centers and their offense looked fine. Something is really off... the team is disconnected on both ends of the court and sadly it’s DM that currently looked the most disconnected. If we want a drastic move it’d likely be a Conley trade.

I think we will win 6 out of the next 7 or so and the record will look a lot better. The ceiling of this team is just not likely as high as we once thought it would be... which sucks... but you don’t go changing the one thing we are good at because the team is underperforming... I’d look elsewhere.

I seriously doubt that Rudy will be willing to pass on the supermax. Whole that supermax thing is not about money, those guys elligible for it fart with money. It's about the status. He feels underappreciated with no All Star selections, DPOY snub two years and general opinion about him so I guess he will expect at least his franchise to show that they value him.

Does being an NBA champion help with ones "status"?
