Trade Gobert Discussion

I'd bet Rudy gives the Jazz a hometown discount. He's not going to be as valuable to other teams as he is here.

That being said, I'd never trade him. It'd sure suck watching him help Dallas, Portland, San Antonio, the Clippers win a championship.

So what are the Jazz trading Gobert for? Cuz most good teams have good centers or are asset-depleted.

Meanwhile, we have jack ****ing nothing to fill that void. Trading Gobert is blowing up the team, and I don't think the market would even be that strong for him.

Good question. I think Boston is the best trade partner. They are laughable in terms of bigs and they also have numerous picks and a glut of wings. I would personally target Jaylen Brown.

In terms of blowing it up - watching us lose Gobert (and our pick to Memphis) in 2021 is rock bottom blowing it up. If that might be possible, we need to consider a trade prior to that.

If DL ever proved he was willing to sink with whatever ship Dante was on, but went and moved Gobert, I’d be completely done.

Only way you move Rudy is if DM says its him or me. Other possibility is if he turns down an extension this summer. No reason to do it in season... Boston also can't trade Jalen Brown until this summer (if that is your major Rudy buyer).

Times are rough... I get it... I drove home from Bakersfield yesterday and had a lot of time to think about what we could do... Had talked myself into Conley for CP3 as the ultimate panic move that might actually work... times are rough, but we don't need to go full spaz.

I'm fine if people want to talk about trading Rudy as a thought experiment... but there is no scenario that we trade Rudy and get better imo. I just don't see moving him as the answer to our offensive woes and it creates a hole the size of the grand canyon on defense.

LOLing so hard right now... DL is gonna be talking about all the ways it should have worked out with Dante in like 25 years.

I really hate the fact that Gobert made a big scene about needing to get the ball more. He acts like a petulant child sometimes - crying when he doesn't make the All Star Team, give me a break. Then does anybody remember who played for us in our down to the wire game in Milwaukee back on the 25th, days before we got blown out by Indiana and Toronto. He doesn't deserve the ball more when he can't seem to hang onto anything more than a perfectly placed alley-oop. And I haven't seen the same fire and sense of urgency on the defensive end that earned him back to back DPOY. But there's no trade out there that favors us. But the coach has to quit indulging Gobert's fantasies of being a first option p n' r kind of player IMO.

The only thing I can remotely think of that has any value is Gobert and Conley for Steven Adams and Chris Paul, but Adams has been playing like crap this season and Paul is too ball dominant IMO. Both our guys have the potential to be better than what those guys are now.

Do you think okc would do a Conley for cp3 trade? How long is cp3 contract?

Once Gobert loses a step, he's going to be the guy everybody complains about. The guy isn't a Gasol or Ibaka. He has almost zero offensive game outside of setting screens and dunking lobs. Also, how effective has he been in the playoffs? I know he is great, but has his impact been that substantial in the playoffs? Is he really that essential come playoff time?

Rough spot. To tank right they would need to get Donovan out for season with an injury, trade Gobert and Bojan for a mountain of picks and young players, trade Green and Davis for a late second round pick each, and roll out Conley Exum Niang, Brantley and Bradley and hope like hell that another team wants to shed salary next season so they will take exum or conley in July.

But Memphis is owed a pick and that is dangling out there driving part of Jazz decisions.
