Ya, but don't you think teams would be more willing to trade for him now when they aren't sure what he'll get paid, and would have at least a little bit if time to evaluate before he gets a big deal?
Think how hard it's going to be to trade Kanter if and when he gets a big contact. What if he doesn't really improve over the next couple years, he's riding the bench and not producing much, and on a big contract. Hell be practically immovable at that point.
That's one of my biggest fears right now for this team. We can't get saddled with bad contacts. Burks is already an iffy bad contract.
Bad contracts are what destroy franchises.
Let's not forget that Kanter has been a regular on Shaqtin a fool. That doesn't exactly say future superstar.

I think so too, but that's why I said we should get a little more from them. We should be able to snag a late first as well as Stauskas. But this is also about where their future value is. We have to look down the road a little.
What's more valuable in a couple years? Kanter making 16 mil a year as a back up, or Stauskas on a rookie deal?
I get that and agree.. and I missed the added 1st, my apologies. I like it more with a 1st.
They are better than us.. I would be easy on the "bad teams" thing (vs. us) until we prove otherwise.
I know.. but still.. W/L's have to be taken into consideration when talking about "bad."

I think Sacramento has to prove they are a good team before we can give them credit for it. They are extremely average right now. And their most recent history they have been really bad.
