Trade Mitchell (Include Clarkson)

I’m 100% against trading DM in the next two years, though I’m starting to have a couple concerns, topic for another day. That said, I can’t remember any recent trade that would be similar, trading a 25 year old star locked down for 4 years, so there’s not much to compare him to.

The only thing I can think of is whenever Philly finally dumps Simmons, you could compare what they get. I think Mitchell would get more since he’s not a malcontent like Simmons.

Go watch one of our playoff series from the last two postseasons. Then you will realize that trading Don is one of the worst ideas possible.

We need defense around Don if we want to get serious about a title.

Trading Mitchell is 190% the correct move. Hopefully he Is a dominant stat hog again this playoffs then you trade him at peak value. Go get Jaylen Brown and pieces

And we go 1-7 when he doesn't play. Talk about undervaluing. You've bought entirely into the media narrative that Rudy is unplayable in the playoffs because he couldn't guard a wing guy going nuclear because he was covering for the rest of the entire team sucking balls on D. Give him Chris Paul, or damn near anyone who actually makes an effort as a playmaker and takes some pressure off on defense, and Rudy would average 20 ppg easy while still being the best defensive player and rebounder on the planet.

I think Rudy is fine in the playoffs. I'm not one of those "Rudy is unplayable in the playoffs" idiots.

Rudy might dominate plays on defense and have bright spots on offense, but Rudy will never dominate a playoff series. The playoffs are a different brand of basketball. His skill set affects opponents but doesn't dominate them.

As for our regular season record, what does that really matter? Of course we built the entire thing around Rudy so when he's out, we are going struggle.

Yeah, sure. The difference in the playoffs is you are playing the top teams who have time to target your team's weaknesses, which is defense for us, interestingly enough. The only reason we are competitive at all in the playoffs is Rudy. Take him out and we lose every single game. Playoffs or regular season. Take out Donovan or Conley and we have a chance, playoffs and regular season. Rudy is way more impactful than you understand.

By these same standards, Mitchell who had awesome offensive outings but didn't even have any bright spots on defense, didn't dominate in the playoffs.

Defense, eh? Maybe the most impactful defensive player on the planet would be helpful.
