Gents,

Consider this:

Then consider this...

I think both teams get something they like. Favors, Exum, and an expiring contract for the Unicorn and taking on the albatross...

This one hurts enough that I think it's fair. Porzingis is the best player on the contract. Noah is all defense and weed or whatever substance he abused. We are all about character and defense.

Supporting them jigglers...

Rumor is NYK asked BOS for Crowder/Brown/#3/BKN 2018 1st. Although the actual asking price likely isn't quite that high, I strongly doubt Favors/Exum & taking back Noah even gets us into the conversation.

I'd certainly take Noah if that got him here. Noah would actually be useful for us as presently constituted. We don't have the pieces to get him, though.

Your cup size is too big for the assets you're showing.

Can the Jazz still use that one time Amnesty provided by the NBA?

No, I believe that was for players who were signed under a long-ago CBA.

On the flip side, if we had the pieces to get Zinger (we don't), I'd bet we could put Burks in there if we're taking Noah.

Can't see the trade in your link, but if it is for Exum and Favors I don't see the Knicks wanting Exum. they just drafted an Exum clone who they'll probably want to develop.

The only way this trade happens is this: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y9h4kshx

Utah gets KP and Noah ($17+$4.3=$21.3)

NY gets Hood ($1.4), Favors ($11), Diaw ($7), 2018 OKC, 2018 Utah and a future lightly protected pick

Why for Utah - we would be okay taking on Noah to get KP.

Why for NY - KP has said he is going to explore league opportunities after his first contract is up. So really, the team getting KP is only guaranteed 2 seasons. Noah's contract is awful and dumping that is huge value for NY. He could be he worst contract in the NBA next to Deng. Favors is worth a shot for NY and is a positive asset both on the court and as an expiring. Hood is a really good asset. He's a proven starter who might play really well in the triangle and next to Melo. The 2018 picks are probably 15-25 range, but they are still first rounders. The future pick from us could be unprotected which has a nice ring to it. Diaw is a very attractive piece too because his contract isn't guaranteed. He could be flipped in another deal with a team with cap issues to take a contract. If NY liked Harkless or Leonard from Portland, they could get him for pretty much free.

I don't think NY would do this, but you never know how everything transpires. If they could do this trade AND trade Melo for an expiring and picks, they could have a Philly rebuild pretty quickly. Just don't think they get rid of KP yet. I will say this - Boston will not be absorbing Noah. If that is part of the deal, we have a good chance. If Hayward leaves, this is the first phone call I'm making.
