Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Just checked and in six seasons he’s never averaged more than two assists a game. Not good imo.
per36 he got to like 2.4 his first season with Trae. I think he could be like 3.5-4 per 36 if he is used more in the screen game.

Don't think he will be amazing there but its not like Vando is amazing there either. Gets assists but touches the ball a lot and most are to shooters in the DHO actions and not necessarily passing while coming downhill or creating an assist per se.

Kind of like the wolves and Gobert. I love that idea. It's not like Collins is a free asset coming our way. We would have to give up something good to get him and there is the question of what else you could get for that 25mil in salary. Not every decision is just cut and dry. There are tradeoffs and I'm hesitant to go after a guy that plays the same position as our best player and to get the most out of him he needs to play a similar role to that guy.
Collins plays power forward almost exclusively. Thats Lauris worst, least frequent and least favoured frontcourt position on offense.

I dont know why people constantly keep repeating he is a 4 when he moves and positions much more like a wing. Can you not see it when you watch the games?

He plays way more above the break than at the baseline... and rarely goes to the weak side corner. Doesnt post up either.

In fact, as evidence, he has just 0.6 3PA per game from right corner (most common PF spot up location) this season, and 5.4 (vast majority) above the break. That 0.6 about the same as Rudy Gay, Ochai and Fontecchio.. who all shoot WAY LESS.

Beasley has twice that at 1.2 and Vando has 0.8 (which is 67% of his 3PA). So based on that they both spend more time spacing in the "4 corner" than Lauri.

I don't know, he and KO seem to have some kind of simpatico going on finding each other. Vando is pretty clever with his passes and also pretty sure handed in receiving them. I mean I'm not one to stand in the way of progress but I think we'll miss that.

Since when is how many assists our bigs get a sticking point?
Not a sticking point definitely, just a minor niggle. I'm much more concerned about the .232 percentage from three tbh. I mean I'm going to assume he's just a rental but either way he has to revert to form sooner than later.

Basketball doesn't work like that where the 4 only plays at the baseline or in a certain position on the floor. They use Lauri all over the floor but more importantly he is the primary big man cutter. The reason why Collins has regressed over the last few years is that is his best role as well but he was displaced with the addition of Capela.
