Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

After trading a stud young player for Sabonis I just don’t see the kings trading for Gobert.
I wouldn’t think so either but I also wouldn’t think a team that sucks on defense and has an iffy shooting point guard would trade for Sabonis… so who knows?

They could move him before the deadline... not stuck at all.

Remember when Blake signed for infinity dollars with the Clips and they traded him for Tobias and the pick that became SGA that year? Then they traded Tobias a year later for like 2 firsts. Don't let talent walk out the door.

It’s just like us last year re-signing Conley. If you can retain players especially when you’re over the cap you do it regardless.

Booker and Trae making all nba puts a damper in their teams cap situations… traes contract automatically jumps 6M… think this makes them a little less likely to pursue Rudy.

No... you are wrong... the last thing they want to do is have him walk for nothing. They were comfortable with the risk in not extending him because in the worst case scenario they match a 4 year max (he wanted 5 last summer). He likely will play as he would be fined for not showing up. He won't lose all his trade value... if there are multiple max's out there for him it means he has a market.

They have a bunch of other ways to cut salary short term and don't have a huge issue until 2 years from now.

Detroit and SA are bidding against each other and other teams.... so it will end up being something of substance. Even if Detroit just send like Stewart and KO then Phoenix would create a trade exception they could use as well. Its not an amazing haul but he won't walk for nothing... and the team that does get him to sign an offer sheet without a sign and trade is the LEAST likely team to get him.

Sounds a lot like what we did with Gordon Hayward.

Would you do DM for Davion and the fourth and filler to match money?
I’d need another first unprotected… at very least. If they add Barnes I’m fairly interested at that point.

I’m not the biggest believer in Davion but he’s fine. I think he’s more a good third guard in an ideal situation. He’d look better without Fox.

Listened to the Game Notes podcast with Tony Jones and he doesn't sound at all optimistic about Butler's future with the Jazz. He basically says he has a ton of talent but he's not sure he really fits on this roster because he has to have the ball in his hands to be effective...said he's probably eventually going to end up on another roster, either this summer or in the future and he's going to average like 19 points a game and Jazz fans are going to be upset and wonder why he wasn't given the opportunity to do that here, and Tony says the reason is because you don't want to take the ball out of Donovan's hands. He said it's possible that a lot of moves will be made in the backcourt in the offseason to open up some minutes for him, but right now there are just too many guys ahead of him in the rotation, said it's also possible he won't be on the roster next season.

He also said he's pretty confident that Donovan will be the starting point guard next season and that if Conley is still on the roster, he will likely be coming off the bench for the first time in his career.

tony jones is a dumbass. he's just a hack offering a stupid opinion like anybody on jf would do.

Longshot, but could we convince LaVine to sign here and get him via sign and trade using Rudy? If LaVine wants to come here...

Rudy and Conley for LaVine and Vucevic? Could we get more?
