Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

My guy Monty dropped some facts today.

1. It's a long summer

2. Ainge may be waiting to move Gobert until after the draft, because now he sees what teams visions are with their picks. Now he knows who to target.

4. Got to get the right coach and coaching staff for these major moves.

3. I also quoted KOC in the chat. Lol.

Aside from Donovan, Rudy, and Jordan Clarkson, we have 73 million dollars on shooting with some other dwindling skills. None of which the league is salivating to get these players from us. That's disheartening. We got to improve the performance of the supporting cast.

I am all for getting a player like Matisse Thybulle and go all in on more defense and put a ***** in the approach that we need shooting all the time. And who knows, Matisse shoots 79% from the free throw line, maybe he can develop a good average on his 3 point shot.
Again, our players our valued, but you cant trade old win now players for younger win now pieces.

You trade those players for future assets and take back worse players. That's how it works. The Jazz are trying to thread a needle that's very difficult. Maybe Ainge is a mastermind who can do it, but Im not hopeful.

I doubt they actually get Kyrie.

Getting Brunson might make them want Mitchell more. It moves their timeline up and they would be more motivated to add an All-Star. Brunson/Mitchell/RJ isnt ideal, but they can play those 3 as starters.
I guess… Knicks are also dumb so they do dumb things. It just felt like they were starting to get a bit desperate and if we said “give us all your picks unprotected and swaps” they may have done it. I really think after the latest Nets disaster that those types of packages are going to disappear for a while… clips, lakers, just gave away lotto picks that were supposed to be late firsts and still have big obligations going forward. Those were always the real prize I would be after… the ancillary picks are nice.

The KD/Kyrie stuff ruined any possibility at a major trade on draft night. All the trades where just pick swaps and draft repositioning.

I always imagine this “show” is recorded in Monty’s in laws basement.

I agree… I had just hoped at least they get one of the picks in the 30s. We have to learn from our previous mistakes and just get as many wing prospects as we can to start refilling the pipeline. We also can use that pick to help manage the cap stuff… so that we don’t suck value out in other areas. We have to take as many swings as possible and last night felt like we completely struck out watching.

I also think we are nearing the point of no return on Rudy. If I was him I’d be so pissed. He’s also the type of player that you need him to do all the hard stuff… if he comes in pissed I worry his motivation to do the hard stuff stops because he feels unappreciated. At some point settling for 75 cents is probably the thing to do if they insist on the “we can’t rebuild model”. Rudy has been loyal as hell and we have sold his *** out multiple times as an organization and now hanging his name out in rumors all offseason… this is once again us underestimating the human element of all this stuff… which I bag on DL for a lot of ****… but he was awesome at this part of the gig.

Still love the major rant about free agent workouts and how the Lakers dont do them and then a few days later the Lakers had a free agent workout.
He’s one of the dumbest people I’ve ever heard talk about basketball. He declared Rudy Gobert was terrible guarding the pick and roll and I was like “okay… I don’t need to listen to this guy at all”.

Rudy going to be motivated by winning his 4th DPOY so Im not too worried about him in that regard. He does have him moments of kind of half-assing, but overall he's one of the more committed players in teh NBA.
