Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Came up with a trade idea that most will hate but I would consider. Jazz send Vando to Boston... Boston sends Gallo and a 2026 first to Utah (top 4 protected maybe... it likely won't matter). Saves Boston like $20M plus over the next two years between luxury tax and salary. Gallo basically will be hurt all year and we can waive and stretch his money next year if we want to create more cap space.

I wouldn't see Danny collecting more picks at this point. More likely to shed some

Nah... DA doesn't give up picks... he's the collector.

Its not about collecting picks... its about cashing in on assets with current value for an asset that is more fluid and provides a benefit later (in trade or just making the pick).

I think we consolidate picks on draft night 2023 either to move up or trade a pick to get a pick in 2024. They way things are trending we have 3 picks in the next two years (since we owe our 2024 to OKC). The cupboard is more full later but I wouldn't give up a 2025 or later Cleveland or Minny pick until I see where they are headed. Only way we cash in a pick now is if there is a somewhat amazing deal. We also have no second round picks... so I don't foresee a roster crunch like the one OKC had/has with all their picks.

You are so much lower on Vando given this trade and a Lakers trade. He is a raw, 23 year old on a peanuts contract and has a high motor. We can easily get a first round pick at least without taking on a negative contract

Says the Jazz are impressed with Markkanen, and it would take a lot to trade him, and they want to extend Clarkson because Ryan Smith loves him, but everyone else on the roster is expendable, even Sexton.

I wouldnt buy those guys stocks. They seem to rely on preseason assumptions, and dont seem to have any new insights about us.

My gut tells me we are not guaranteed sellers yet. If we get a decent record, compete well and wont get blown out in our next 7 game stretch, I think we might buy rather than sell.

The Jazz have players these other teams want to steal, Bias reporting trying to make us look desperate and flatlining with no hope trade everyone now. We are in control, we aint desperate and we have Ainge.

Maybe... if so then we should do it. Just don't see many 1 first round pick deals for players like Vando.

There is an article on the ringer about us today too. I think its all about being opportunistic and may not matter too much on how the next 7 games go. The opportunity to improve our own draft pick is slowly slipping away the longer we wait though.

If there is a chance to buy low on a 20 something like John Collins... I think they would do that deal. If there is an opportunity to cash in on Vando, KO, Beasley, Mike... or even JC then I think they do it. There is a chance they do nothing... which would be a mistake imo. If we did nothing we really have no cap space as you'd expect them to pickup the options on KO/Beasley and let JC walk. So I'd probably go ahead and make a decision now and either open up that space or take on some salary and firm up that picture.

Given the market thus far it might be smarter to be a buyer as teams like LA, Phoenix, Dallas, seem to be resisting giving up their picks.
