They can include pick swaps in 28/30 and even include McDaniels if they wanted to. Point being why even give them the opportunity to do something like that? Conley’s expiring is huge and helps them make salary match on top of everything else.

I get what you are saying... I just don't think they need Mike to do that type of thing. They have Andersen, Prince expiring deals and could sign Naz/Nowell to mid type deals to get the salary they need. I just don't see them trying to add a bunch of salary in the 2025 and beyond years.

I think the biggest factor by a wide margin is making them better this year. Them losing Dlo for nothing is secondary to that.

The overall point being... don't help Minny do stuff right now. So we agree.

You’re right. My point should have been an additional factor because we have their unprotected first this year we shouldn’t help them at all this year which is the main factor for sure.
 
While I would want some cap space... I think we can do everything we want in FA next year with the MLE. If we are looking to do something bigger we can involve the expiring salary we have.

Proposed Beasley to Memphis for a protected pick, Danny Green, and Xavier Tillman. I'm cool with that.

Could do the worse of the GS and Memphis pick next year as Memphis owns both. That way you know it will convey and it is pseudo protected.

Mentioned Vando to Brooklyn maybe... Said KO's name... not much else I remember.
 
If we don't trade Conley+Gay for Dlo, I think MIA will trade Lowry for him.

If we are are trading Beasley/Vando, I'd rather target a second draft type of guy like Collins over late first round picks.

- We have the 3rd best offense and the 27th worst defense.

- We are 10-18 in our last 28 games.

- Zach Lowe thinks it is time for us to pivot to seller mode.

- We are only a few games out of 6th or 7th in the lottery.

- Lowe says Vanderbilt is a valuable trade piece due to production and contract.

- Lowe says Beasley is the most underrated trade candidate in the league.

- Lowe’s two potential Beasley teams is Memphis and New Orleans.

- Bobby Marks throws out Beasley for Danny Green and a protected first (Lowe loves it). Lowe said maybe Memphis could add Xavier Tillman to the deal.

- Lowe loves Beasley as a 6th/7th guy off of the bench.

- Marks proposes Vanderbilt to Brooklyn for Day’Ron Sharpe, Kessler Edwards and Philadelphia’s 2027 Top-7 protected 1st. Marks said he would make it lottery protected by adding 8-14 to the protection and Lowe likes it.

- Lowe mentions Golden State as a potential Olynyk landing spot but Marks thinks Charlotte is a better trade partner for them (specifically a Wiseman deal).
 
Zach Lowe hated this team before the season. Absolutely hated it. He's looked like a damn fool ever since, so I'm gonna go ahead and roll my eyes at most of his takes.

This I can more or less get behind and have been saying it myself. Shooters like Beasley will always have a job. Do we want to trade him though?
