Trade to 5 for Jarace?

to clarify, you'd rather give up assets to move up and take Walker than stay at 9 and take JHS?
Depends on if I think I could trade back up to take JHS while also doing the Jarace trade (which seems possible according to Givony, or at least there have been some discussions).

But if the hypothetical is one or the other, I guess I would stay and take JHS.

There have been a handful… Luka obviously… Jarrett Culver was another. It varies wildly. The cost is usually one good pick… so would you do #9 and 2025 Cavs pick? Maybe? It requires a willing seller… there are teams that make bigger offers that are rejected.

If they’d take 9 and Ochai I’d do that… if it’s 9 and an unprotected future pick I will pass… if the target is Walker anyway, but that is a reasonable, fair offer that is in line with historic comps.

So if we move up to 5 I will say it is Ochai/28/9 for 5 or 9 and a future pick for 5.

Ochai’s #1 hater doing nasty work…

It sounds like Detroit would likely want both 9/16.

thanks for the honest answer.

I guess if they really think Jarace is a complete stud and great fit I would support it. My own uninformed opinion is that the cost would be too high, and I'd probably rather get someone else at 5 anyway. Seems very unlikely Walker would be there at #9, but if Black or a twin was,, I'd just as soon take them with no added cost.

I still like Cam Whitmore more. Walker would be a great get, but I don’t want to pay a fortune to move up to get him. A reasonable trade up would be the preferred pathway to get whichever prospect they really want.

Jarace isn’t getting past Indiana at 7 it sounds like. If he is our guy we need to trade up.

Sounds like we have some solid ranges for prospects now (not accounting for trades where someone purposefully trades in front of a range)

Walker: 5 or 7
Hendricks: 7-12
JHS: 13-16
Wallace:10-16
Amen: 4?
Ausar: 5-9
Whitmore: 5-9
Black: 7-10
Scoot:2-3
Miller: 2-3
Bufkin: 8-13
Dick: 10-17
Bilal: 9-16
Lively:10-15

I am also team “don’t trade up unless the cost is negligible” If Cam is there I just take Cam 10 times out of 10.

Sounds like we are good with Cam, Ausar, Black, Walker… one of them will be there. Hendricks hasn’t been linked to us except by locals right? I’m obviously cool with him too.
