Trey Burke highlights vs. Phoenix

Frankly, I found the comparison germane due to the fact that Roy was more crafty than quick. Not saying they have the same game. Should have clarified.

Furthermore, the necessity was there because one might question the effectiveness of a player that is more crafty than quick.

I understand what your point was. Being crafty vs. quick is not what wholly defined Brandon Roy and if a player shares those attributes, it doesn't make them him. One might take a few seconds and realize that that is a very easy thing to do, but whatever.

I'm just excited that we finally have AI/Chris Paul/John Stockton.

.

Wasn't attempting to make the point that craftiness embodied Roy. Figured we were talking quickness (regarding Burke) and so, with the natural level of specificity that would follow, I merely proceeded to point out that perhaps being more crafty than quick can be just as effective. Bringing Roy into the equation was a superficial attempt at a model. I did not intend for it to be a scrupulous endeavor. Certainly, there was more to Roy's game when he was a stud, and I do not doubt there will be more to Burke's game, but in the name of specificity and certain realms of discussion... you get the idea.

Why does he seem to simply skirt the pick or move away from the pick rather than working the pick and roll? This is something he needs to learn.

He loves the big moment, we saw plenty of that in the tournament last year. He seems like the guy who won't be the biggest or best (Let's not kid ourselves, he can't be a #1 option on a really good team.) But he can be the guy who huddles the team together and fires them up. This team will be his by the end of the year. If he can develop a nice PnR will Favors, watch out.

I think it deserves its own thread. Discuss. Dude looks like he's got a bit of Allen Iverson in his game (maybe both good and bad).

If he can be an AI without the prima donna-ness, I'm fine with it.
big fan of AI, and Burke is not AI! AI's elite quickness is only a small part of what made AI special. During his time he was the toughest most relentless player in the game. Dude bullied his way to the rim, and would get the hell beat out of him, and always came back for more, and never relented. If Burke can have that kind of nastiness great, he'll have a place in the league, but he shouldn't be compared to AI.
His quickness was downplayed a lot in the draft. He has elite quickness I think.

AI had elite quickness. Burke does not have elite quickness. Bean I'm not going to tell you to stop talking out your ***, because then you'd have to delete your jazzfanz life. But wow!

let the dude keep the antiques bro.. they're likely heirlooms.

Hahha I am yet to figure out why you needed to say that. I see that the word is "antics" now, but the funny thing that tackled me was that the Turkish translations for those two words are the same word in Turkish, which is "antika".

If I had to have one or the other I would take crafty and smart over elite quickness any day. Of course I would prefer both.
