I thought he showed promise his rookie year - definitely enough to show he belonged in the league.
It just seemed like he never worked on what he was bad at and he never improved on what he was decent at.
Interesting thing is not too long ago shooting 40% from 3 pretty much guaranteed you a spot somewhere in the league (see Scott Padgett). Not anymore.

And trey is shooting 33.7 percent from three for his career.

He shot over 44% last year from 3 which is over a 10% improvement from his rookie year.

I think he meant Dalamon... even the best of us can have their misjudgement of players before draft. For example, I absolutely hated Hayward pick and he made me eat a big fat crow.

I really wasn't singling out anybody specific(Ok, maybe rev a little). I think Dal was just going down with the ship, even though he knew that sucker was doomed.
There was one poster(think his name was Da Throne) who was over on the Wizards board trying to convince them Trey was a great player and that his shortcomings were the result of Utah using him incorrectly.
Oh, and franklin was convinced Trey would flourish outside of Snyder's system. HH thought he'd have a ten year NBA career. Those are just some of the ones I remember. Some people thought we would get a first round pick for him. Definitely not just one person here.
The weird thing for me, is that I usually support Jazz players to a fault, but with Trey I wanted the Jazz to Trade him half-way through his 2nd season. I have a pet peeve for players who have no sense as to when they are having an off night shooting. Some guys know when they aren't feeling it, and try to adjust their game accordingly to contribute in other ways. Trey was going to chuck that sucker no matter what, which really just makes me want to pull my hair out after 5 or 6 consecutive bricks.

I think he was averaging like 12 MPG, and the wiz ended up playing Jennings in front of him. That just means that even with those percentages, the rest of his game wasn't good enough to keep him on the floor. Jennings is now playing in China, which is where Trey will go if he has half a brain. He's good enough to be a 3rd string PG in the NBA, but that looks like his ceiling at this point. Overseas he will find better opportunities.

I'm not going to pretend like I watched much of Burke last year; but I'm sure it was the defense. It was readily obvious his last year in Utah that teams were running right at him the moment he walked on the court.
The bottom line is he's a small guy and a soft defender - that combo will get you jettisoned right out of the league unless you got an offensive game like Kyrie or IT.
