I haven't given up on Burke. I think a lighter load will make a big difference for him. What Burke needs is Exum to score 12, Burks to score 14 and Hood to score 14.

I don't have high hopes for Burke, but I haven't written him off yet. I think he could be a very solid backup PG.

He was asked to pass the ball to better players and run the offense, while playing decent defense. I fail to see how that was too much. That he failed at it and lost his job to a 19 year old rookie is telling.

I truly want the best for Trey and hope he improves by leaps and bounds over the summer, but sadly, I think his ceiling is a smaller, less athletic version of JR Smith. However, his only saving grace is that he's the most clutch player on team.
 
I was beyond excited when we drafted Trey Burke, I loved how he played at Michigan and the Jazz were hurting so bad for a PG. However, until he can shoot the ball with some consistency and accuracy I really have doubt of how long he will be able to last in the NBA. If he can get his shot down then he'll be a career backup and be able to space the floor...if he can't then he is a short, slow non shooter.

I agree that this next season is critical for Burke.

But I really only see 1-2 areas that he had some improvement and the rest was stagnant or increasingly bad.

Where do you see this improvement?

For me it's only the stutter move to get by his defender and when to shoot while int he flow of the offense and not all the late shot clock prayers.
 
Best point guard from 2013 is Dellavedova. I'm still a fan of Schroder and I'm hopeful that Neto will show something too.

Trey Burke just does not have a future in Utah. Burks is bigger, faster, stronger and better at everything. I'm expecting the Jazz to keep Hood in the starting lineup and have Burks fill Trey's scoring role from the bench. That's a huge upgrade on both ends of the floor IMO.

Wouldn't be surprised at all to see them package Burke in a move up in the draft.
