The 15 he dropped in the first half kept Utah in striking distance for that huge 3rd q run..

Watching these highlights (and some of his recent good games), i'm reminded of the Vince Vaughn "You're all growns up" scene from Swingers. I'd post the clip but I'd probably get fracted for it.

I'm very interested to see what he does with himself this offseason. He could breakout in a big way next year.

It's crazy how poised Lyles is on the court but the second he's on the bench goes completely bonkers when someone else scores.

Weird kid but I love it.

I have a feeling improving his body and getting stronger will be his primary objective. His feel for the game is phenomenal, and obviously has all the tools in the world to be such a versatile offensive player. He got annihilated on the defensive end early on when he got minutes, but he's already improved because you can tell he's gotten a little stronger physically.

Hayward's game took that next step once he developed physically. His body was still developing/growing when he came into the league at 20, and it's the same for Lyles who was 19. As he continues to add natural grown man strength, and sticks to the weight training regimen, he will only continue to flourish.

We'll see where Lyles is at to start next season, but I don't think it'd be out of the question that the Jazz may explore trading Favors if Lyles is trustworthy enough to be strong enough to be a good defender/rebounder as a starter.

I'm really excited to see how much better a 3pt shooter he can be. Obviously he has some pretty good % right now, but he can definitely get better. He still doesn't pull on some shots where he I can see in the future if someone closes out that weak on him, he will just rip it from anywhere on the court.

This is exactly what we need to be contending - when a starter goes down the backup comes in and plays well. Granted, Lyles and Favors are very different from one another but to not suffer when a starter goes down is a luxury.

Our depth is better from last season and it's only going to improve more next season when we replace Johnson.

His pump fake and take it to the hole is a thing of beauty, if he can just dunk it instead of laying it up idk if that can be stopped

I was thinking the same thing during this game. It's not only the poise that he carries but he reminds me of an old man on the court. Not in the pejorative sense but in the sense of being a wily veteran who plays the game in a very cerebral manner.

I threw up in my mouth when we drafted Lyles. I will fully admit that I've never been more wrong about a Utah Jazz draft pick. The disdain I felt for Trey was completely wrong and misguided. He is going to become a straight-up MONSTER.

I think he humbled more than a few folks on this board. I was indifferent to the kid as I didn't really know anything about him as I don't follow college ball. But I decided to take a wait and see approach which is usually the right decision when it comes to sports.

Lyles is pretty freaking good. I'm really impressed with his defensive and rebounding improvements... Still a ways to go but so much better than the beginning of the year.
