What's new

Trey's not going to stop, till he's one of the best.

I still like Trey alot. I think he'll improve alot and surprise everyone once again. It's pretty pathetic how some of the 'chumps' on here are already giving up on him.

I see him as a Derek Fisher type player, no overwhelming athletic ability, never great, never an elite point guard, never an all-star, but a serviceable role player and capable of hitting big shots. You still need players like this on a championship caliber team...

I will continue to support Burke until I don't. I still like what I see from him.

Trey is the best point guard the Jazz have had since D-Will; unfortunately, that isn't saying a lot. I would like to see an upgrade at pg ... or any of the other 4 floor positions. That doesn't mean I want any of our players traded, because I'd rather see one of our core group legitimately pushed to the second unit by our draft pick.

I think a lot of people are down on him because he doesn't have the highest ceiling.

I think the problem is his physical gifts not necessarily his ceiling.

As a Hornets/Pelicans fan I watched Chris Paul early in career even at WF. He doesn't have top notch quickness or explosiveness. What he had was great handles, great ball-handling, crafty moves, length, good upper and lower body strength, and excellent body control. These are pretty much Trey's characteristics. While Chris was farther along in some of those and a few other attributes Trey IMO isn't far behind. So I certainly don't think Burke has a low ceiling he just isn't the athlete that John Wall is. Just looking at the games consensus two best PG's over the last decade Paul and Nash being that elite athlete really isn't the prerequisite as some like to think it is.
