True Detective

McConaughey is fantastic in this show and Woody is also great, as usual.

Have you seen Killer Joe or Dallas Buyers Club? He was fantastic in both of them and they were completely different roles. Anyway, dare I say he's having a Travoltaesque resurgence?

I did see "Killer Joe" and I'll never eat a drumstick again without thinking of it. Haven't seen DBC yet. I've liked him since "A Time to Kill" and "Lonestar", but he did have that questionable streak of mediocre chick flicks. But this role...holy ****, he's good.

Yup. He was off the map for quite a while. He also has a definite reputation to him and I think for the most part it's true.

If you haven't already, watch Mud. He's great in that. The two kid actors are also awesome. Jeff Nichols is a really under appreciated filmmaker.

I spent a couple weeks restoring Airstream trailers in upstate New York in 2008. The outfit was actually working on one of McConaughey's trailers. Mirror finish on the panels in the bedroom. No joke.

Sounds like something he would definitely be into.

I remember one day I was driving into work. So I pull up to the gate and there's one car in front of me. It was an old, red convertible with some shirtless dude driving it. I mean, I guess this is not weird in of itself, but come on, you're driving into one of the biggest studios in the world. So, I'm waiting there for security to check his ID and let him through and when they finally do, I pull up, flash my ID and drive through. I'm right behind the convertible. Dude makes a right and pulls into a parking space that is usually reserved for talent. I'm thinking to myself that this guy is nuts. Anyway, guy parks, get's out of his car, puts some sort of ripped shirt bandana thing aroundthe top of his head and walks into the producers building.
