Interesting you see a difference in point of view as "offense". And even that difference in point of view was just another equally valid view on a complex topic.

Except those that completely buy into their side's propaganda. Propaganda is only what the "evil" ones do. And clearly, we're not evil, so....

Oh lord. I didn't think people were getting offended because of the "differences in view points". It was the name calling and promises to put people on the ignore list. "Centrism" must be so exhausting.

Nah, I knew lots of drugs addicts. And I knew many drug addicts who are now deceased. By far the majority of them were white. Zero of them were black. I have never met a black drug addict. When I think of a drug addict a white male pops into my head.

Not saying that things haven't been depicted in movies and television and media etc the way you say that they have. Simply saying that for me drugs aren't a racial issue. Same goes for many other people who actually know addicts. Most people I know have had addiction show up in their lives or their friends or families lives so they relate to those close, familiar situations way more that what they see in the media or how the government wants them to think. I dont disagree that the media and government have tried to tie drugs to POC but I simply dont think it has worked due to the fact that addiction is so rampant in every community and every race that most people can see that addiction and drugs aren't a POC issue but a simply a societal issue of all of us.

So dumb. I dont see this as a huge deal since im sure he is joking (just like in his interview when he said he should be pope or something) but its pretty lame that our president doesn't have the integrity, self awareness, respect, emotional intelligence, etc to know that its a horrible look to post this right after the pope dies.
Hopefully all the catholics are turned off by the classlessness of such a stupid post.

I'll take it over blind fanaticism any day. Yes, employing critical thinking around most topics takes a lot more energy then just blind obeisance to the party line, no doubt. Still it's worth the effort. You should try it sometime.

Yes you would hope so. But right now my hope for us as a nation is pretty much at an all time low. Never underestimate the stupidity of fanatical people in large groups.
