Trump Dictatorship and All Things Politics

I love that most of these articles about "why did Trump choose so and so" gloss over or completely ignore the fact that his decision-making has one criteria: how loyal are they to Trump and what he wants to do. Period. That's it. Sure they might be some agency or another adjacent, and have some interest in whatever group he put them in charge of, but in the end the decision comes down to unwavering fealty to the DICKtator. How much are they willing to lick his boots. That is all that matters. Everything else they put in those articles is just fluff.
If he gets in some of these clowns via recess appointments, what a s***show we are in for. It’s not funny, but I can’t help but laugh at some of his nominees. It really is creating an idiotocracy….

Although I was not focused on masculine vs. feminine in our culture wars, I’m realizing more now how this issue is somewhat at the heart of who Americans want to be. And why it’s no surprise that some here have always promoted toxic masculinity in these political threads…so terrified that men with nurturing natures are somehow “unmanly”. And empathy for others is a sign of weakness. What a sad, sad view of the world in 2024….

This one gets close to the real reasons with this comment:

It also appears that Hegseth is one of a long list of flat-out trolling nominations for Trump's second term, which also includes Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida as attorney general or Fox News substitute host (and onetime Hawaii congresswoman) Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence. The goal here seems to be finding people who are uniquely unfit for these jobs, both to rile up liberals and to flush out any Republicans with remaining loyalties to the concept of responsible governance.

She calls it a "troll" appointment, but really he doesn't have that level of intelligence. It is 2-fold: 1) how loyal are they and will they be to Trump and 2) how can he shove a middle finger in the face of anyone who ever spoke against him. Since previous generals have proven too focused on weak and loser mentality like "duty" and "honor" when carrying out their duties as SecDef, and since so many have spoken out directly against Trump, he has to appoint someone who will be a Trump puppet so he can shove it in their faces and show them what their fealty to country before Donald will get them. 4 years of hell.

You must have thought I was thinking of you when I said “let the trolling of the dumb electorate commence!” Well, by golly, you must truly be psychic! Toss up between you and AI.
Ah let them have their fun before the reality of the upcoming Trump administration sets in.

This thread is sure to see a lot of nuanced rational healthy debate, such as Gabbard a Russian asset whose grey streak of hair is a signal to Moscow that she’s still open for business. Lololol

Some of you have completely lost your ****ing minds. Good luck

“Each of Trump's proposed appointments is a surprise. It is comforting to think that he is simply a vengeful old man, lashing out this way and that. This is unlikely. He and Musk and Putin have been talking for years. And the whole idea of his campaign was that this time he had a plan.

We should be wary of shock, which excuses inaction. Who could have known? What could I have done? If there is a plan, shock is part of the plan. We have to get through the surprise and the shock to see the design and the risk. We don't have much time. Nor is outrage the point. Of course we are outraged. But our own reactions can distract us from the larger pattern.

The newspapers address the surprise and the shock by investigating each proposed appointment individually. And we need this. With detail comes leverage and power. But clarity must also come, and quickly. Each appointment is part of a larger picture. Taken together, Trump’s candidates constitute an attempt to wreck the American government.

In historical context we can see this. There is a history of the modern democratic state. There is also a history of engineered regime change and deliberate state destruction. In both histories, five key zones are health, law, administration, defense, and intelligence. These people, with power over these areas of life, can make America impossible to sustain.

Christian Nationalism is a cheap plastic monster your mom found at the dollar store which you are spinning with great delight into the most formidable of threats to the army of heroes arrayed on your bedroom floor. The battle does look like fun, but c’mon. It can’t fly. It doesn’t even have wings.

“Extremism experts are sounding the alarm about Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of defense, whose writings and online presence reveal someone immersed in a culture of rightwing Christianity, political extremism and violent ideation.

The Fox & Friends host, who has served in the US army but has no experience in government, drew shock from Pentagon officials when Trump nominated him. Hegseth’s books on American culture and the military, his commentary on Fox and his frequent posts on social media showcase his far-right ideology. On these platforms, Hegseth telegraphs paranoia and anger toward “leftists”, an ultra-masculine Maga persona and apparent revulsion toward service members who do not fit his vision – including women.

“The thing that really worries me, is both the ideology of Christian nationalism and what that’s going to mean for the kind of policies he tries to put in place for the defense department,” said Thomas Lecaque, a historian focusing on religion and political violence.

Researchers who focus on the Christian right were quick to flag Hegseth’s tattoos, which feature a tapestry of symbols widely embraced by Christian nationalists, including a Jerusalem cross on his chest, an American flag with 13 stars partly obscured by an assault weapon below his shoulder and the words “Deus Vult” (“God wills it”) on his biceps.

Deus Vult is “a first Crusade battle cry”, said Lecaque. “There is no other way you can interpret this. This is not some warm and fuzzy, ‘we should, you know, pray and do acts of service’ – this is a call to religious violence.”

Considering what you used as an example it sounds like you're supportive of the orange god-king. Yeah, everyone else is out of their minds.
