I may have lost a friend in all that. But at least for a few seconds I got the maga-rusted gears in his brain to break loose and spin again for maybe the first time for him since 2016. Shocking and terrifying the hold this cult has over it's people.

Good on ya. The assholes who support Trump deserve everything they're about to get and more. Too bad we're all along for the ride on the crazy train.

I'm betting against Trump. Got a truck for 25% off of MSRP, a lower trim model. Decided to do it now even though we could have waited. Who knows, maybe I'll sell it to a maga schmuck in a few years for what I paid. **** em.

Your last paragraph is just another reason electing trump was a bad idea.
My co worker has lost multiple friends due to trump disagreements. And to be honest, I think it's probably mostly his fault more than theirs.
But again, whose fault isn't the point.
It doesn't matter if it's all the libs with TDS being assholes to conservatives that is causing relationships to fracture or weaken.
It doesn't matter if it's the conservatives with TDS being assholes to liberals that is causing relationships to fracture or weaken.
The fact is that it is happening all across the country. More division that ever. And not just across the country but across continents. Our government has fractured or weakened relationships with the governments of other countries. And I'm certain that if you were to travel to another country right now you would get treated worse by the locals more than ever due to being an American.
Because of trump.

I think he's mostly thinking we give them too much power through our constant attention. What if we put that effort into actually standing up to them and fighting them down. Could they have taken down Hitler at the point he stood up as a demagogue and before they took full control of the government? Interesting to think about.

Beyond voicing our warnings, which we've been doing since 2016, what are we supposed to do? Call our ineffective congress people? Stand on a corner with a sign? Is that too much passion? Trumptards have common characteristics, which are indisputable based on the characteristics of the man they support. They think they are better than everyone else. They think their **** don't stink. They are racist. They are classist. They view themselves as being on a winning team instead of viewing us all as teammates. How do you combat that?

I don't know how you combat that.
I don't know if ruining relationships with people in our lives does any good though.
Like if German citizens destroyed the relationships in their lives with people that were embracing facism early on would that have prevented the Holocaust?
I doubt it.
Sadly I can't think of anything that can really be done. I guess I will just keep pointing out how bad trump sucks and hope that people see all his suckiness on display often enough to realize that he in fact does suck.

Luckily for us trump is kind of doing the work for us. He could have came into office and put more pressure on the border and made his order that men can't play in women's sports and went for his billionaire tax cuts and he would have probably been really successful.

Instead he went ape ****. Gulf of Mexico, take over Panama canal, take over Greenland, take over Canada, piss off our allies, side with our enemies, fire everyone, **** up the stock market and economy, hurt the veterans, cut much needed programs, in addition to his usual douchebag dumbass self talking inaccurately about things like transgender mice.

trump is a dumbass and America has that working for us in stopping the fascist dictator.

My dad has become a closet trumper. He pretends hes reasonable but hits all the trump talking points. His wife has had conspiracy theory fever since Covid. After seeing them for Christmas I haven’t talked to them since. A lot of the **** they say is just hateful and I don’t want my daughter around it. I’ve hit a wall, I have zero tolerance for the ******** anymore.
