Trump Dictatorship and All Things Politics

Will the Supreme Court take away Trump's authority to impose tariffs? BTW what ever happened to the Republicans steadfast belief in free markets? Can't wait for this entire regime to be neutered.

lol. Silly boy.

Free markets was yet another lie Repubs said. They merely pretended to care about free markets. Just like they pretended to care about deficits and strong foreign policy. All that matters is power. Just like the mafia. They want power to enrich themselves and their buddies. When you’re from east Jesus, Iowa, getting rich in DC and being invited to parties is way better than working a regular job and living among your stupid *** constituents. Just ask literally every utah congressman. Mike Lee hates his constituents. He doesn’t do any work in DC. But boy, does he love being a senator.

So a brand new allegation that has never been mentioned until now. Before it was all about how he was an MS13 gang member, rapist, killer, drug dealer.

Now he accused of giving his undocumented friends a ride home from work... They're calling that smuggling and trafficking.

The Supreme Court on Friday allowed members of the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency to access Social Security Administration data.

The conservative-majority court, with its three liberal justices objecting, granted an emergency application filed by the Trump administration asking the justices to lift an injunction issued by a federal judge in Maryland.

The unsigned order said that members of the DOGE team assigned to the Social Security Administration should have "access to the agency records in question in order for those members to do their work."

The lawsuit challenging DOGE’s actions was filed by progressive group Democracy Forward on behalf of two unions — the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, and the American Federation of Teachers — as well as the Alliance for Retired Americans.

"This is a sad day for our democracy and a scary day for millions of people," the groups said in a statement Friday. "This ruling will enable President Trump and DOGE’s affiliates to steal Americans’ private and personal data."

Wait, wasn’t he already determined a criminal and that’s what led to his deportation? So he wasn’t a criminal after all? Yeah, this stinks of a kangaroo court. Donald has to save face so he’s cooking up some bogus charges to justify Donald’s ridiculous attempts to whiten America.

Then again, that’s what maga has always meant!

LA burns
Exactly what Trump (Stephen miller more likely) want. This serves two purposes:

1) Throws his base red meat. They love beating up brown people in California. This distracts from his flailing presidency.
2) This power grab works to chill future protests.

The counter to all of this is for small-d democracy caring people to rally behind democracy caring Democrats. In a binary system you have to choose one way or another. Third party or staying at home only serves Trump and the GOP at this point. Tell your friends and family to register, help make them aware of Trump’s fascism, and make sure to get your *** out to vote. A few hundred thousand across four states in 2024 decided this. It’s a shame millions stayed home or voted for Trump over something stupid like eggs. How many others stay at home during local state elections? I know here in Utah many R legislators go unopposed. And we wonder why we’re in the plight we’re in?

Btw, how is inflation and grocery prices these days? Has donald fixed those things yet? He said he’d fix them on day one. Has it been day one yet?

Is this going to lower your grocery costs or provide you with health care? How’s your 401k looking? All my life in Utah I’ve been told how Democrats are out of touch all while promoting economic policies and social reforms that have turned out to be popular. Meanwhile, republicans keep jamming down restrictive health care policies on women, tax cuts for the wealthy, slashes to social safety nets, and whatever the **** you want to call this. Who is really out of touch? How does this military parade help you?

A nation wide day of action would be great.

And yet this carried zero weight throughout the 2024 campaign. This should have been a big issue, his absolute disregard for the constitution, human rights, and desire to be an authoritarian dictator. Instead, the media focused on nonsense in order to make it a horse race. Smart people care about the dispositions of their leaders. Unfortunately, a lot of dumb voters and most of our media only cares about entertainment, clicks, and a faux sense of “balance.”

This is a great article about how I feel towards *****eads in the media. Such a damn good article:

A nation wide day of action would be great.
That’s entertaining I guess. And could pump up some excitement for a bit. But I’d rather see organizing happen. Something structural with media, intellectual thought, and influence. The right has the federalist society, countless think tanks and voter registries, and owns the media. It’s an apparatus that keeps voters angry and politicians in line and controls the narrative of every issue out there. The left has nothing like that. Hence, why the left is so fractured on almost every issue and can’t mount even a speed bump against this runaway authoritarian train.

We need actions that will bring about change.

I think, ultimately, Trump has trained his Party well, and, with so much focused on culture(destroy DEI, and sideline any American promoting such), etc., I think we are seeing the opening efforts to establish totalitarianism in the United States. And with the aid of AI, perhaps, we may even have “thought police” sometime down the line. Trump is creating a master data base on every single American. The aim is totalitarianism. And I would expect along the same approach as China.

At any rate, as things grow worse, we may yet need a second Revolution. The Dark Enlightenment and Project 2025 may force the issue as both aim for totalitarianism….

History shows that once an authoritarian ruler establishes the infrastructure of a police state, that same infrastructure can be turned on anyone.

Trump and his regime are rapidly creating such an infrastructure, in five steps:

(1) declaring an emergency on the basis of a so-called “rebellion”, “insurrection”, or “invasion”;

(2) using that “emergency” to justify bringing in federal agents with a monopoly on the use of force (Ice, the FBI, DEA, and the national guard) against civilians inside the country;

(3) allowing those militarized agents to make dragnet abductions and warrantless arrests, and detain people without due process;

(4) creating additional prison space and detention camps for those detained, and

(5) eventually, as the situation escalates, declaring martial law.

We are not at martial law yet, thankfully. But once in place, the infrastructure of a police state can build on itself.

Those who are given authority over aspects of it – the internal militia, dragnets, detention camps, and martial law – seek other opportunities to invoke their authority.

As civilian control gives way to military control, the nation splits into those who are most vulnerable to it and those who support it. The dictatorship entrenches itself by fomenting fear and anger on both sides.

Right now, our major bulwarks against Trump’s police state are the federal courts and broad-based peaceful protests – such as the one that many of us will engage in this coming Saturday 14 June, on the No Kings Day of Action.

It is imperative that we remain peaceful, that we demonstrate our resolve to combat this tyranny but do so non-violently, and that we let America know about the emerging infrastructure of Trump’s police state and the importance of resisting it.

These are frightening and depressing times. But remember: although it takes one authoritarian to establish a police state, it takes just 3.5% of a population to topple him and end it.

Wow….protests are now a “form of rebellion”. I can see the police state on the horizon. No amount of mindless trolling can hide the fact. Americans protesting and speaking out against Trump, may yet find that such protest will be made illegal in a totalitarian police state…

LA’s police, in short, are saying the protests are largely peaceful and they are able to handle them. The protests have occurred because of the actions of ICE, who are engaging in aggressive immigration raids across LA despite it being a “sanctuary city”, a term for a city in which laws have been passed barring all state officials and law enforcement from aiding immigration authorities. ICE was acting in an inflammatory way against the will of local voters, and was facing protest as a result.

In his executive memorandum ordering in the troops, Donald Trump said that those peaceful protests “constitute a form of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States” – using this as a justification for the first non-consensual deployment of federal troops in this way since the civil rights clashes in the South. As if all of this wasn’t enough, Trump’s defence secretary (and former Fox News presenter) Pete Hegseth threatened to send in Marines to LA – a move California’s governor Gavin Newsom has rightly called “deranged”.

The dangers of Trump’s unprecedented escalation here should be obvious to anyone: the federal government has no business sending armed troops where they are neither needed nor wanted. Should things escalate into violence, it would be the federal government who poured petrol onto the fire. When armed troops are on the streets and top government officials are fanning the flames, people can easily be killed – and events can spiral.

But the blazing hypocrisy of Trump and his top officials should stand out, too. One of Trump’s first actions on regaining the presidency in January was pardoning thousands of insurrectionists who participated in a violent invasion of Congress – including those who assaulted police. Now, mere months later, Trump claims to be so outraged by peaceful protest, which is protected by the First Amendment of the US constitution, that he is deploying troops against them.

This risks a full-scale collapse of the USA’s already crumbling political norms. Trump has pardoned his own supporters for violent insurrection even as he deploys armed soldiers against his political opponents. This is the behaviour of dictators, not democratic leaders. It is a sign of a society reaching its breaking point.
