Trump Dictatorship and All Things Politics

Trump is a celebrity sideline reporter at the Israel/Gaza peace plan. He's eagerly letting us know what other countries are doing without his involvement.
Gotta get that nobel. Would help his brand and get him more money which is extremely important to him.

No mention of the plenarary authority word being thrown around and the most awkward freeze in TV history?

Good to know that trumps wierdo Miller guy thinks trump has ultimate authority with no checks and balances.
I saw that. Not surprised at all. Nothing miller says or does would shock me. He is one of the few people that I think is actually worse than trump.

Sen. Chris Murphy describing the steps in Trump’s effort to create a dictatorship:

U.S. Senator Chris Murphy, one of the most outspoken members of the Democratic Party, took to the Senate floor to explain what he says is President Donald Trump “enacting a well thought out plan so he and his allies can rule forever.”

“We aren’t on the verge of an authoritarian takeover,” the Connecticut Democrat declared. “We are in the middle of it. But I worry people don’t see the whole scheme. They just pay attention to each new daily outrage.”

He detailed what he says is the Trump administration’s five-point plan.

Step one: “Turn the justice system into a political witch hunt operation that punishes critics for free speech and immunizes loyalists for actual criminality.”

“We are seeing this at scale right now,” he said. “The indictment of James Comey, for no crime.” Murphy explained that no prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Virginia would sign the indictment.

“President Trump sent his personal lawyer to take over that office. Because only she would sign that indictment.”

Murphy explained that the goal is not to arrest everyone who opposes the President, but rather to “just put enough fear into the ranks of those who might speak truth to power,” so that they might “stay quiet.”

Step two: “Use government power to compel the media to tell only the regime’s narrative and to silence critics.”

He explained that that would include eliminating the free press and replacing it with state media.

“I don’t know that I’d go so far to say that we have state run media in the United States yet, but there is an attempt underway to try to use the vast regulatory powers of the administration to censor media.”

That includes threatening to pull TV station licenses, as well as the “consolidation of media into the hands of allies of the president.”

“One family that has just taken control of a major media group that owns, amongst other properties, CBS, is looking to also take control of CNN, and may have an ownership stake and a control stake in TikTok,” Murphy said. “That family has shown a willingness to censor contents. Pulling Stephen Colbert off the air, and to put in place, essentially, Trump approved sensors for their future news content.

Step three: “Use the military to perform political intimidation in places with high levels of opposition to the regime.”

He said sending the military to blue cities is “illegal.”

“But it is designed to once again quell dissent and protest. This isn’t about public safety, this is about political intimidation,” Murphy alleged. “And you’re just naive if you think that folks aren’t going to be a little less interested in showing up at a protest if they are worried about getting roughed up by law enforcement.”

Step 4: “Seize control of Congress’s spending and tax powers to use those powers to reward loyalists and punish opponents.”

He said he cannot understand why there is not “bipartisan agreement” among Democratic and Republican lawmakers to oppose Trump “seizing” Congress’s power to tax and spend.

Step 5: “Rig the rules and the information. Tilt the election playing field your way and destroy the idea of truth.”

This includes, Murphy said, Trump demanding red states redraw congressional districts to allow the GOP to add more seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“Totalitarian states can’t accept truth, so they try to destroy truth,” Murphy explained. “That’s what Donald Trump is doing.”

“I know this sounds extreme,” Murphy wrote. “It is.”

“I know I sound overly alarmist,” he continued. “I don’t think I am. Trump is enacting a well thought out plan so he and his allies can rule forever. But it’s not too late to stop them.”

“If you allow yourself to connect the dots. If you allow yourself to see the whole story — the totality of this story — you will see the grave danger that we are in.”

Most everything in here are things Democrats have ACTUALLY done. You would know that if you watched, listened to and read actual news sources.

FWIW, Emergency Medicaid for undocumented immigrants made up only 0.4% of total Medicaid spending in 2022.

Of the 38 states that had data and Washington, D.C., the team found that emergency Medicaid spending for undocumented immigrants amounted to about $9.63 for every resident in those states.

Even in states with the largest undocumented populations, costs remained under 1% of Medicaid budgets.

Supporters of the 2025 Budget Reconciliation law say the cuts to Medicaid will only affect care for groups whom they believe should not be receiving it to begin with, such as undocumented immigrants.

However, undocumented immigrants are unable to receive comprehensive Medicaid, Medicare and Marketplaces options under the Affordable Care Act under federal law, the researchers note.

On Sept. 5, President Trump described ongoing protests in Portland as “unbelievable” and “the destruction of the city.”

Later that day, a sergeant from the Portland Police Bureau filed his daily observations of the demonstrations outside an ICE facility.

“Saw 8 people out front and couldn’t even get one of them to flip me the bird,” he wrote. “Very low energy.”

Daily reports from Portland police in the month leading up to Trump’s decision, on Sept. 27, to send federal troops into the city paint a different picture than public statements by Trump and others in his administration.

The White House has said the ICE facility is “under siege.” Newly released police reports filed in federal court describe how the protests that began in June were dwindling before Trump’s order.

Monday, Sept. 1 (Labor Day)

Largest number of demonstrators: 125

A group of about 125 marched to the ICE facility and stood outside with “little to no energy,” according a police summary. A Federal Protective Service official “was not concerned about the group,” according to the report. Some demonstrators brought a makeshift guillotine that generated “significant media coverage,” police noted.

Thursday, Sept. 4

Largest number of demonstrators: 20

Federal officials reported that homeless people were being coerced by demonstrators into rattling the gate outside the ICE facility, Portland police said. The Federal Protective Service detained an elderly man “after he asked the agents if he could just come up to the gate and rattle it so the antifa instigators would leave him and others alone.” He was cited and released.

Friday, Sept. 5

Largest number of demonstrators: 8

Speaking to reporters, Trump said he might send troops to Portland. He described the continuing protests in Portland as “unbelievable” and lamented “the destruction of the city.” Police in Portland described the following scene that night: (cant copy and past the picture but a complete nothing burger happened)

Thursday, Sept. 11

Largest number of demonstrators: 20

“Nothing much to note tonight,” a police summary said, describing how a small group of counterprotesters showed up.

Wednesday, Sept. 24

Largest number of demonstrators: 10

All was quiet at the ICE facility where less than 10 people gathered, according to Portland police. “No assaults, no calls for service,” police said.

Thursday, Sept. 25

Largest number of demonstrators: 20

Trump escalated his attacks on Portland, telling reporters that “nobody’s ever seen anything like it.” Trump said there were professional agitators and crazy people who are trying to “burn down buildings, including federal buildings.” He vowed to do a “pretty big number” on the “people in Portland that are doing that.”

Friday, Sept. 26

Largest number of demonstrators: 15

A small group was observed outside the ICE facility “mostly sitting in lawn chairs and walking around,” according to a Portland police report. “Energy was low, minimal activity. As officers drove through the area the group would often flip us off but as the night went on they stopped acknowledging the police.”

Saturday, Sept. 27

Largest number of demonstrators: 60
Trump posted to Truth Social that he was “directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists. I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary.”
That night the demonstrations grew, and federal officials arrested one person for blocking vehicles as they tried to leave the ICE facility, according to Portland police.

Sunday, Sept. 28

Largest number of demonstrators: 200

Wall Street Journal reporter Joe Barrett reported that the Sunday night rally drew a crowd to protest the potential troop deployment. There was a naked woman, a retired manufacturing worker with an “I AM ANTIFA” sign, about six to 12 people dressed in black with covered faces, and signs with message like “F— ICE,” “Release the EPSTEIN FILES! NOW!” and “THERAPY LLAMAS NOT TRAUMA.”

They chanted, drummed and urged passersby to honk before blocking the street entirely. After dark, someone set up a sound system. People danced and sprayed bubbles. Officers in tactical gear would occasionally emerge to push the crowd back for vehicles entering and exiting. At least twice, they pepper-sprayed demonstrators. The smell of pepper spray and marijuana was pervasive.

Portland police say that a vehicle attempted to drive into the crowd that night at one point and was surrounded by demonstrators.

Monday, Sept. 29

Largest number of demonstrators: 40
Barrett reported that a much smaller group of protesters held signs saying “DUE PROCESS ISN’T OPTIONAL” and “WHAT’S YOUR FAMILY STORY.” A person wearing a chicken suit and stylized American-flag cape appeared to be the ringleader.

Local and state authorities say protests have intensified since Trump’s Sept. 27 post, and more counterprotesters have joined the fray. “The criminal activity in the last couple of days has been counterprotesters having arguments and fights with protesters,” Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek said in a televised interview this week.

Saturday, Oct. 4

On Saturday, U.S. Judge Karin Immergut, a Trump appointee, issued a temporary restraining order blocking the deployment of troops to Portland, citing concerns of federal overreach. In her order, the judge also said, the state provided “substantial evidence that the protests at the Portland ICE facility were not significantly disruptive in the days—or even weeks—leading up to the President’s directive.”

There were sporadic events requiring either police or federal law-enforcement intervention, she wrote, but “nowhere near the type of incidents that cannot be handled by regular law enforcement forces.”

Judge Immergut said Trump’s portrayal of the situation on the ground “was simply untethered to the facts.”

Trump vowed to fight, and the court battle continues. On Sunday, he said “Portland is burning to the ground. It’s insurrectionists all over the place.”

The above is super scary stuff. Basically nothing dangerous was happening. Though trump was acting like there was some violent war taking place in portland. Then trump escalated the situation and the situation escalated slightly but was still a nothing burger.

trump is lying to try to make people scared of these cities and angry at them. trump lies to make people scared of immigrants and angry at them. trump lies.

Of course trumpers just be like "don't trust the law enforcement that is there at the scene! They are all deep state leftists who are against trump! trust trustworthy honest abe donald trump and only donald trump!"

Of all Trump’s cabinet appointments, RFK Jr. may be the biggest imbecile. Which may be saying something, but moments like this are great for illustrating Kennedy and MAHA are rooted in conspiracy, irrationality, and crackpot nonsense. You know we’re in a different world when asking “which Trump appointee is the biggest crackpot?” is a legit question.

The day before Donald Trump is scheduled to have a “routine yearly check-up” at Walter Reed Hospital, just five months after his last one, former GOP campaign strategist Rick Wilson reminded the president’s most rabid followers that he won’t always be around to protect and support them.

In his Substack column focused on the president and adviser Stephen Miller, itching to provoke citizens to the point where the president can invoke the Insurrection Act, Wilson claimed that there will come a time when the people doing Trump ‘s dirty work will also face the type of retribution Trump is currently putting his perceived enemies through.

With reports of Trump having increasing health issues, to say nothing of observations about possible dementia, Wilson wrote, “Let this be a clear warning to those who would enable an assault on 250 years of American liberty. You will not reign forever. Your Dear Leader will be dead sooner than you imagine, given his failing health and corroded mind.”

Having previously asserted, “Donald Trump and his claque of pissant authoritarians have switched from wanna-be to gonna-be, itching to turn the United States military into their personal palace guard, their political police force, their Praetorian Guard for the Thousand Year Trumpreich,” Wilson warned, “The lawful power of the people will be used to deliver decisive, agonizing consequences. Legal, political, economic, and social punishments are the only warning that will work.

Singling out “Those who betrayed this nation” in the service of Trump, he added they “will be tried and handed punishments so severe that generations to come will remember that America is, by its very DNA, engineered to destroy tyranny.”

“I mean this for everyone, from Donald Trump and Stephen Miller down to the masked ICE goons violating the rights of American citizens. They can live their remaining days in an 8x8 cell or take a blindfold, a cigarette, and a wall; it makes no difference to me at this point,” he continued and then added, “Trump wants an insurrection. And he’s sure as hell going to get one.”

So awesome that the Nobel Peace Prize is going to a Venezuelan after the disdain and hate trump has shown to Venezuelan people.

Gonna be so much ketchup on the walls in the oval office. Hopefully trump doesn't use his gestapo or military to kill Americans as revenge for not winning the Nobel.

Delusional donald gonna be so sad.
