Also the penalty for drug trafficking is NOT execution.
Depends cartels have no issue executing rival traffickers

Good point. trump is trying to run the US similar to the mob or a drug cartel so it does make some sense

Excellent. It’s worth pointing out that Judge Luttig is a well know conservative. Some of the best known conservatives in the United States, guys like Luttig, guys like George Will, and others, were among the first to recognize that Trump was a cynical demagogue. One did not require a liberal background to recognize this. One simply needed to have an expert grasp of history, understand our constitution, understand separation of powers, etc. to recognize exactly what Luttig and so many of us knew the day the clown descended the escalator in Trump Tower in 2015: this is the type of man the founders feared the most.

Isn’t he, though? The Trump crime family is in charge of our Executive branch. Russia, under Putin, has been accurately described as a Mafia state. The Russian mob, the Intelligence services, the oligarchs, and Putin=the Russian mafia state. It’s a different equation here, but with Trump and his family members having profited by over a billion dollars in just 9 months, there is no way to avoid seeing Trump’s goal is self aggrandizement of self and family. That will always be Donald Trump’s #1 priority. This reply is a bit off topic in relation to blowing up boats Willy Nilly, but I don’t think it can be pointed out, often enough, that we do indeed have a crime family running the Executive branch of our federal government.

That's actually the logic behind not using the death penalty as an instrument of coercion against cartel traffickers, cause they are living with that threat anyway.
i think David Simon illustrates it well in the wire when you you start to follow the money in the US you end up in places that makes politically appointed judges, district attorneys and so on very uncomfortable.
