Trump Dictatorship and All Things Politics

Aw, what a shame.

A federal judge on Monday dismissed the criminal indictments against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James after finding the prosecutor who brought the cases, former Trump attorney Lindsey Halligan, was not lawfully appointed.

U.S. District Judge Cameron Currie said that she agreed with Comey, who moved to dismiss the case on the grounds that Halligan's appointment was illegal

"Because Ms. Halligan had no lawful authority to present the indictment, I will grant Mr. Comey’s motion and dismiss the indictment," Currie wrote in finding that Halligan lacked the authority to present a case to a grand jury.

"All actions flowing from Ms. Halligan’s defective appointment, including securing and signing Mr. Comey’s indictment, were unlawful exercises of executive power and are hereby set aside," the judge wrote, describing the insurance lawyer as "a former White House aide with no prior prosecutorial experience."

She issued a separate, similar ruling dismissing the James case.

“This case presents the unique, if not unprecedented, situation where an unconstitutionally appointed prosecutor, 'exercising power [she] did not lawfully possess,’… acted alone in conducting a grand jury proceeding and securing an indictment,” the ruling said.

Because Halligan, who was appointed interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia at President Donald Trump's direction, was the only prosecutor to present the cases and sign the indictments, the indictments should be voided, the judge found.

The Justice Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the ruling.

James praised the ruling in a statement.

“I am heartened by today’s victory and grateful for the prayers and support I have received from around the country. I remain fearless in the face of these baseless charges as I continue fighting for New Yorkers every single day,” James said.

Both indictments were dismissed "without prejudice," meaning they could be brought again at a later time.

This is as stupid as it gets. Even Democrats voted for this garbage? Are they prepared to take away all the "socialist" benefits the military currently enjoys? Are they private to privatize taking care of the roads across America, is everyone ready to pay tolls on every road to enrich the companies that will end up owning the roads? Everyone ready to shop for electricity the same way they do cars or groceries? Unbelievably stupid.

Our brave dems, just love losing so much

My first job, when I was 14 years old was at a senior living center. I worked in the restaurant and it was set up like a restaurant, not a cafeteria. I was a waiter. After working there for a while I came to the conclusion that old age amplifies one of two things about a person, either they become much more kind or they become much more cruel. That's because while working there I interacted with the nicest people I had ever met as well as the absolutely most vile jackasses that acted like bratty children. Special shout-out to the Monsignor, who can go **** himself in his grave.

I think we know which quality old age is bringing out in Trump.

Yes, the Afghan national, who shot two West Virginia national guardsmen in the head, and who served with American troops, did enter the country during the Biden administration. Trump is letting us know that in his usual lunatic style. But, let’s not let him forget, the Trump administration approved his asylum request, not Biden.

“What we know is that he comes here from Afghanistan. Now, this is a guy who’s been living in Washington state, not Washington, D.C. On the other end of the country,” reported CNN Chief Law Enforcement and Intelligence Analyst, John Miller:

He comes here from Afghanistan in the Summer of 2021. Remember what that was like? Refugees fleeing Afghanistan, people had to be recommended by U.S. people on one end, vetted on this end by government background checks as far as they could do in Afghanistan, have sponsors and so on. He settled in Washington, he applies for asylum in December of 2024. Now, he goes through another vetting process involving that, and he’s approved for asylum in April of this year under the Trump administration. He comes in under the Biden administration, these checks are being done.
Miller concluded, “In this case, that’s all we know about this individual, but it appears that he must have done work either for or with the United States in Afghanistan to become part of the Allies Welcome program and be brought here. That still doesn’t get us closer to motive.”
