I get paid piecerate and am currently weighing my options between going back to the IBEW doing the electrician thing or working short hours making 40+ an hour doing rigging work while I finish my degree.

How much do you pay per month for your house? I'm a firm believer that a job is a job no matter what you're doing. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. Just know that everything will get better. It always does.

So you make about $2000 after taxes. Your rent and bills (including internet and cell phone) is around $800. I assume you need a cheaper car, plus gas. So generously, that's $1200 a month in bills. You have $800 remaining for all your other expenses, plus those of your kid...

Of course you CAN do it. But you'd be living in poverty.

I bought during the "crisis". I bought a short sale for 100K. My mortgage is $535(bitches). I live close to liberty park in SLC. I have put in a little sweat equity but honestly I just ripped the person who sold it to me off. The best piece of advice I can offer is that buy low usually means everyone thinks it's a bad idea to buy and sell high means everyone thinks you should hold on to it.

A job is not a job imo. There is more to life than a paycheck. I could triple my income at least but that is not all that I want to do with my life. I need passion as well. Having built something and had success I'm not afraid to walk away and explore new possibilities. I will find what I'm looking for or I will die trying and I will never consider wage slavery anything more than a temporary gig while I plan my next move. Honestly I'd rather spend the rest of my life as a whore than a wage slave.
 
I bought in 2006, just before the bubble burst. My house now, 10 years later, is finally worth more than I paid for it (without considering that the basement was unfinished before I bought) and the 56K I put down puts me pretty well ahead. Had I bought the same house in 2009 or 2010 I'd be rich in equity.

A job is not a job. Holy crap. A person is not measured by their paycheck alone, of course. But there are good jobs and bad jobs. Your goals and criteria determine what a good job is vs a bad job, but there are bad bad bad jobs out there. If you have a bad one start looking for a different one.

I have heard professing former FBI and others with stated belief in the higher ideals of government say exactly what I said.

In 1973, when Nixon resigned from the Presidency, I was working for a research director who was then holding some important positions in local politics, who was really sad to see Nixon go.

I asked an Asian in his group what he thought, and he said it proved our system had a high degree of I tegrity, and that we were the only nation on earth that could peacefully transfer power from a wrongdoing leader.

If we can't throw out a Hillary, we've lost what we had.

Obviously, Hillary and Bill didn't need to put the touch on very many folks for this. I'd say less than five. The FBI
BI director saw the importance of being a team player for Hillary.

She got investigated, they found no grounds for criminal charges.

Have fun in fantasyland. If the whole world is in on the conspiracy I want no part of the opposition. I'm having too good a time to give it up for a losing cause that could never give me more than I have now.

As I've said before, I'm voting for Johnson. He is undoubtedly a long shot, but he's the best of the three and it's not even close.

Obviously, this thread has changed directions, but I thought I'd give replying to you one last tack, and then just let it go.

If you think I have to hate Trump based on my comments, or links I've posted for months now, I can appreciate that should be expected. But I don't feel hate towards him. Dislike, yes. He's presents no reasons whatsoever for me to ever say "gee, I wish I had a friend like him.".

Rather then talk past you, maybe it's more sensible to simply say sometimes there are no rational arguments that need to be presented. If instead I simply say the man causes me much greater concern then Clinton, I find the thought of him as President dangerous and worrisome at a level that far exceeds those emotions when contemplating a Clinton presidency. It's not about who's more or less qualified at this point; it's about who strikes me as more dangerous. If I thought the best chance to stop Trump lay with Johnson, I'd push for Johnson. Because this election is clearly about stopping Trump in my mind. For the simple gut reaction that he elicits. She simply does not worry me as much as he does. He's at a whole other level where worry is concerned. I've listened to the man himself. I may post links to opinionated pieces that are critical of him, but I don't need those pieces to know what I see and hear, and the danger it presents. And, rightly or wrongly, the fact that I spent so much of my life studying history, absolutely influences and plays into that gut reaction, that intuition for the man, that I experience.

And maybe even more to the point, something other then talking past people. I accept that not everyone will react as I have, or even ever understand why I, and others like me, would react to Trump this way. We have to accept that it's likely we cannot understand the polarization of opinions in the last analysis, and that we are dealing with fundamental human differences that represent gaps between people, and groups of people, that simply cannot easily be bridged. Which, frankly, sucks, if one is not a fan of frustration. I don't understand why you don't understand my point of view anymore then you understand how a rational human being can't see your point of view. This lies at the heart of the traditional advice to avoid religion and politics as conversation starters.

I wish I could figure out what this means. But it does not surprise me that you would want a friend like her. You want friends like everybody. I have no doubt that, unlike Red, you'd want a friend like Trump (which is what prompted my question). Unlike almost anybody here you want a friend like NAOS. The only guy who you don't seem to want a friend like is ncolorado, and frankly, I won't be the least bit surprised when one day you and he are suddenly the best of buds.
