I thought he focusses too much on reading the whole thing. I know he was reading it, but you'd think after years hosting The Apprentice and 2 years as the President he'd be better at it. I sorta fell asleep half way through watching him squinting his eyes reading the speech near the end.

Do you think he persuaded anyone who was on the fence that the Wall was a good idea?

I generally don’t think anyone’s ideas in our government are good. I don’t trust anyone in our idiot government

I highly doubt there is anyone on the fence about the wall at this point

I was more convinced after his speech that he really believes in the need for a border wall.

I'm not. I think the unintended consequences will be far worse than what we're dealing with now.

But his examples of atrocities committed by illegal immigrants, that's where he lost me. That was pure fear mongering and an emotional ploy. Had nothing, really, to do with the need for a border wall.

And then his drug stuff, the majority of drugs come through our legit border crossings, as per the rebuttal. And I don't care if you build a wall and police the crossings better, he said it himself, $500,000,000 worth of drugs comes across that border. Options are open as to how to get it here. That's a lot of money and a huge organization pushing that stuff here. They can figure out how to keep it flowing. They don't give a **** about a border wall.

And again, you make crossiong harder for the most basic immigrant you give the power to control the gate to organized human traffickers. You build a wall, you increase human trafficking. You make human traffickers richer. You get more women raped, more children killed. You don't solve a ****ing thing with a wall.

Stormy Daniels counter-programmed with 8 minutes of her folding laundry in her underwear. It was probably more substantive.

I make an effort to listen to any Presidential address. They want to say something to their nation, I'll hear what they have to say.

I pretty much agree with this. Its the biggest thing I dont like about his ideas. The wall is pretty stupid.

I do believe in border security though. So I appreciate the effort. If it were me I would just make some laws that encourage people to cross legally. Or deter illegal crossings. How about if you dont cross legally you will be banned for life from becoming a citizen. Then also loosen the rules and wait time to get in. The only thing I care about is dont come here for welfare and pay taxes. Also if you join gangs and committ crimes your citizenship is revoked. Also desolve businesses that hire non citizens.

Those would be my rules. I think that pretty much solves everything. A wall is pretty dumb, and ugly.

By many calculations the Wall is a genius idea because the op capitalized it and generated this discussion with his/her question

Thousand of arrests every day? Doubt it.

More deaths from drugs this year than the entire Vietnam War? You mean from pharma drugs our own in-house dealers produce and distribute?

So anyone here actually likes the idea of the Wall? Or am I the only one here who's hold the flag?
