Everyone knows that dictators have to work the phones to politically lobby those in a different branch of government who have a check on the dictator's power via the ability to deny the people staffing their cabinet, and threatening to use free and fair elections to possibly unseat obstructionists is totalitarian by definition. No, you and LogGrad haven't lost the plot. Carry on!

Yes everyone knows that the best way to govern fairly is to threaten members of congress with their very livelihood to ensure you get the vote you want. Pretty sure that is a commandment or enshrined in the constitution or something.

It is First Amendment. When enshrining rights, it was literally the first thing they wanted enshrined.

I know reading isn't really your thing, but there is page on Congress' own website about trying to persuade a government official . . . in an attempt to influence some action proposed to be taken, and how the First Amendment guarantees it.

 

Matt Gaetz has withdrawn his name from consideration for the position of AG.

Sources told ABC News in the last few days it became clear to the Trump team that Gaetz was not going to have enough votes for a Senate confirmation with sources close to the president-elect telling ABC News "no path to 50" senators.

"President Trump will announce his new decision when it is made," Leavitt said.

Trump has announced he intends to install his top defense attorneys to the high-level roles at the Justice Department.

So Gaetz pulled out?

That’s a first for him.

I think people forget how incompetent Trump is. His regime will be a show of both cruelty and incompetence. Now into torpedoing Hegsmith. If we can smother this regime In its infancy, that’ll be awesome. Then watch Trump implode for two years and decent people retake the House and Senate. Trump will still be dangerous and I think Ukraine is screwed. But taking advantage of his stupidity (and obsession with filling his cabinet with rapists and groomers) could help us avoid worst case scenarios.

His next choice will be Rudy G. Reinstate him as a lawyer as AG. No bigger bootlicker in the country.

If that happens I’d hope every Democrat in the Senate votes to confirm. Imagine how much damage Rudy could do to Trump’s presidency in that position.

Even with the Senate proving that it does have the power and the will to thwart the President's more idiotic impulses, I'm sure that won't stop the moron twins from continuing to claim Trump is a dictator.
