What's new

Tweets from Camp, Thursday Dec 15

Reminds me of a very sage addage:

"Be careful of the toes you step on today, for they may be connected to the *** you have to kiss tomorrow."

I really like your John Maynard Keynes quote. Amazing how many people think it's wrong to ever change their position on a topic .. even as facts change.

Based on these tweets, I'd bet the over in every Jazz game, especially early in the year. We're young, deep, athletic and have many different guys who could pour in 18+ a night but early on, based on these tweets, I could see our defense struggling.

Remember early last year when we were coming back on teams on a nightly basis. Our bench was really good, our bench destroyed other teams benches. This years bench could win a lot of games for us this year.

Devin Harris proves His haters wrong this year. Especially with Josh on the team now. I can expect this year to be a fun one.

If Josh takes away minutes from our promising young guys needlessly, then it won't be fun. A one year rental that has a multi-year effect? Bad.

I think there are going to be enough minutes for everyone. If Josh is coming off an injury, he may want to take a few games off anyway.

I think Josh will provide alot of learning to those young guys, veteran tricks and all so I'm not too concerned (yet) about the minutes he might take. I am more troubled/concerned about hearing from Jazz camp that the Jazz don't have a legitimate 3 without howard. What the heck is Hayward? A SG? Then why draft Alec Burks? And now Kanter is shrinking into a pf?

5 picks in 2 years get the Jazz 2 shooting gaurds and 3 powerforwards?

You dont think Favors can play center? How many 7 foot + dominant centers are in the league? Not many. Favors and Kanter will be fine as the future 4/5 guys. If we just need a 7 footer to play defense against the few other big dominant guys there is always Fes. :)

The fan/media obsession with players being the first one to show up has me fascinated. I was the first one to work this morning. My wife had to drop me off early as my car is in the shop, and she had an appointment to get to. I took a two-hour lunch, and I'm planning on sneaking out when I think it's safe to do so. Oh, and I'm terrible at my job. But no one will question my dedication and leadership because, dammit, I was here at 7:45 getting an early start on reading Facebook.

I love it. Soooo true. You also hear frequently praises heaped on those who are the last to leave as well.

Only one person can be the first one to arrive and only once can be the last to leave. Does that mean that everyone else is necessarily less dedicated? Of course not. This is just another one of the largely meaningless sports cliches that are tossed around as if they somehow had profound and universal meaning.

Note: When I graduate from school, my first job was as a commercial loan officer at a bank. We had a couple of people in our office who worked until late at night. What did it mean? Nothing, other than their social life was built around hanging around late at work and then going to a bar to drink with their other buddies who lacked a family life.
