Ty Corbin Appreciation thread

Stifle Tower

Punch Bowl Re-Filler
There are several threads bashing Ty, polls on who the next head coach should be, etc. So for those who really like Ty and want to see him remain as the HC, maybe even get a long-term extension, here's your chance. Post all the great things about Ty right here. I'll go first..........................................................umm, sorry, I've got nothing.

He, uh ... his understanding of ... uh ... his presence in the locker room ... inspires ... um ... confidence? I got it! His post game interviews shows an unwillingness to compromise his ideals and approach to the game, and he never takes any crap from any fan who has never played in the NBA.

OK, I thought of one: losing never gets him down. "It's just one game" to him and he's able to forget about it, and then return the next game as if nothing had happened.

He was working with Memo when he went on that unbelievable tear.

I have developed an uncanny ability to predict - nearly word-for-word - what Ty will say in post game interviews. It entertains my family.

I know this thread was done out of sarcasm, but I'll say thank you to Coach Corbin for putting up with us spastic Jazz fans.

kudos for not lowering his ideals to chest bump with a lowly player

he has perfected the art of the mumble.

he has prolonged the life of vets

I appreciate him being the bridge between Jerry Sloan leaving and our next great coach.

Two things: the dude is definitely a glass half full guy. Very admirable.

2- I feel sorry for him. This next year is going to be a living hell for him. I bet he wants to be to e as badly as we want him gone.

I loved Corbin as a player. I love guys that hustle, pick up trash and play hard. As a coach he survived one of the worst coached season in Jazz history (his fault, but he didnt quit in embarrassment) . It reminded me of the times when Frank Layden coached. Frank was a terrible Xs and Os type coach. Frank was funny and told some great one liners. I'm sure Corbin is a good guy and company man. That said it really hurts watching horny leave while keeping Corbin.

My nomination for post of the thread or POTT.

We'll see if his vet-first, minute "earning" style has worked on the young players. He's put them through the ****ing ringer. If they are playing .500ish basketball by mid-season I would be very impressed. I'll give Corbin next season to see if all this crap has been worth it and he was right along. I don't really have a choice do I?
