Figured he may need his own thread here (perhaps conjoined with Lyles) to follow over the years, as he eventually became the 24th pick we traded for Mitchell. I was just looking at LV summer league stats and it looks like he's played 24 mpg over 5 games and is averaging 2.4 points per game.

Some good quotes from Nuggets board on realgm:

I'm ready to wrap a bow on Lydon being a complete bust after four summer league games. Four may have been generous, for those of you wondering why I'm making these proclamations during meaningless summer league games. His absolute highest upside is undersized shooting 4 who adds no other value on the court and will be a liability defensively.

Basically, unless Trey Lyles looks and acts like a different player/person than he did in Utah, they go two useless, redundant pieces for a lottery pick.

Slow clap, front office.

We'll just cross our fingers and hope that a bad summer league player turns into a good player eventually even though he's undersized without plus length, athleticism, or toughness.

Maybe regular season NBA basketball will embrace the 2-3 zone. Or he'll get to play Boston College instead of OKC.

I could go along with that line of thinking if he was supposed to be raw, or was considered an upside pick. Lydon was not. There isn't much that we can point to that will develop down the road.

I'd love nothing more than to be saying "man, I was wrong about Tyler Lydon" in a few years. I didn't love Murray as a prospect and can happily admit I was wrong there.

I don't see it even a little bit with Lydon, but here's hoping I'm wrong!

Seeing him in the SL and those who we could've had I am more than discouraged. Hope Lyles can make this trade look reasonable.

Collins, Adebayo, Anunoby and Swanigan were all available.

No one was going to make a big difference right away, but those guys will all be better and more valuable than this guy when Millsap is done.

I still don't get it.

Before the trade, Mitchell (who just put up 37pts in a game), John Collins (who has 3 double-doubles so far) and a mention have looked much better with higher ceilings than Lydon so far. Lydon's most marketable feature was his shooting ability which has seemingly dried up in his first NBA stint. Has the feel of a bust already or at likened it to selecting 6'11" Efthimios Rentzias C who was neither 6'11" nor a C, appears Lydon isn't close to the 6'10" Gallo-clone as advertised.

I feel for them I really do.

They have bad management. What a painful franchise that must be to follow.

They're going to be better than us, you know? I heard they were better than us last year, too.

Maybe we can get Lydon for a late 2nd rounder or Goss?? lol, watch him come to utah and blow it up. poor Nuggets fans. What hope do they have? We lucked the heck out to have such a dumb trading partner.

I liked Lydon coming into the draft... watched one summer league game live and lost is not a strong enough word to describe him. He was basically looking at his teammates for direction and looked scared as hell.

A little early to write him off though. If he figures out how to get more comfortable out there his shot is pretty sweet.

With that said neither of those guys are 1/10 the player DM will be... DL needs to text Denver every night around midnight with a "U up?" Just in case.

At some point didn't we have the draft pick we traded for Gobert on the roster?

Yeah... Eric Green. He looked aight in the summer league a couple of years ago. Scored a lot of points, but didn't make the training camp I don't think.

The best part is that the NUGGETS called DL and asked him if we wanted the pick. ;) They coveted Lyles.

Scumps to many, many more Nuggets Jazz trades in the future. Lydon was NOT a guy I wanted for the record. My dream scenario written 2 days before the draft was that the Jazz traded up to get D. Mitchell. I just expected it would cost Diaw's expiring and a pick or a pick and a quality player. When we ended up dumping our Lyles load on the Fuggets, I giggled for weeks about it. Still am. Then summer league came, 37 points, 8 steals, shutting down Tatum, clutch shot, 3 - 0 in Utah, an early partnership with Exum...

This is just going to get better folks.

DL should write a Player's Tribune piece entitled... Thank you Denver.

'member when I told people Kuzma was a 1st rounder and some people told me Lydon was better?

I liked both guys... Wasn't sure on Kuzma's shooting. Would be interesting to do a draft redo after summer league and see where guys would fall... Smith Jr., DM, and Kuzma's stock would be a lot higher.

Denver didn't need Mitchell since they have Murray and Beasley. Here dehydrated gobert but they also have Jokic and can't play those two together. Reason Denver didn't need Mitchell so they gambled with Lyles and they blew the pick. They shouldnofnpicked swanigan
