So here is an article..... long, extensive....intellectual....wrong.... about Western failures in foreign policy....

https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/united-states/2019-11-22/shoals-ukraine

This is I think at least as good as Kicky could do, if he were a CFR scholar on the subject. Or a close associate of Joh Huntsman Jr, formerly our Ambassador to Russia, or even of our Ukraine Ambassador, or the dullwit in our State Department heading our Ukraine intelligence. Or even Hillary Clinton or Obama.

So what's wrong with it? Globalism. The failure to promote actual American Values as our principal tactic in foreign relations.

Not even discussed in the article was the history of Moscow's atrocious treatment of Ukranians. At least as bad, probable much worse than the Britain treated the American colonies. What with years of ethnic repression on the level of starvation and mass removals under Stalin.

I dispute the actual leading blandishment that Trump has linked aid to his personal vendetta because it is an active, currently, Ukranian offer to cooperate if we will only accept it, in the prosecution of the corrupt actors on their soil who have done "business" with US. And second, because whether Trump wants to not, it's his job to enforce US laws and comply with US treaties. That we have corrupt political and media actors who are screaming bloody murder to derail his legitimate efforts is our problem.

Ukranians voted for their independence from Russia, even in the Donbas and Crimea, but the fact is we did a deal with Putin that gave him the lattitude, wiggle room.... as in not doing a deal that would really work to begin with.

To achieve the goal of removing nuclear missiles, or de-commissioning them, which are under Russian command but located on relinquished territorial control, we more or less assured Russia that we would not "invade" or seek influence in the relinquished states. But we did. And then Putin came to power as Yeltsin resigned, and Putin is determined to maintain not only Russian security but Russian influence in the relinquished states, on par with our influence with the EU.

Western pushes to enlarge the EU and NATO are without any questions, a breach on our part (the West) of the START treaty. And Putin has said so. He has said that we have converted the ideal of a "new law" under the UN globalist schema, into a reality of "no law" except the raw power of special interests with influence over not only Western governments but the UN as a whole.

And China is pretty quick in its wits too, and this is why China and Russia are now asserting their interests globally.

The fundamental thesis I make in response to all this is just this. The CFR is in fact a fascist organization, pushing not "American" values, but a set of values actually only well-known within a limited set of very powerful actors in our politics.

This is not good. It is not defensible. It is not supportable. It is disastrous to every decent hope we could have as a nation.

That Trump is in the parlor knocking over the set tables is not the crisis. The crisis is the set tables and the names set at the plates. The American People have been excluded.

And yet we're supposed to believe the propaganda we're being fed, and pay the taxes to support these corrupt policies, and believe our authorities on foreign affairs, and count our State Department and other agency wonks as "working for us".
