The Aztecs brought warfare to a whole new, modern level of art, that no subsequent nation has ever matched. Their actual land conquests were small in comparison to their sphere of influence and control.

It could even be said that they invented intrigue long before the Europeans mastered it, what with political philosophers like Machiavelli or Trotsky.

Most Americans have been simply duped into believing that the UN is some kind of ineffective bumbling bunch of parlor pansies, when in fact it is THE meaningful government in this world. Nothing else that goes down even matters any more. We no longer have any. . . . as in ANY democracy or "Constitutional Republics" or even "Communist" governments on the face of the planet. The most that can be said for "independent nations" anywhere is a few bizarre tin-foil-hat ideologue/dictatorships like North Korea, Iran, and a bunch of meaningless African nutjobs.

So the Aztecs used to run "Bowery Wars". In effect they'd send out invitations to neighboring royal elites and invite them to a party, featuring some war "games". Of course, the ordinary little people were being used, fooled, duped, propagandized into thinking there was a real issue, a real war worth fighting for. They'd sign up to fight for their country. . . maybe they just did what they were told, who knows, but they believed in their wars in a way their royal leaders did not.

The royal leaders would set up a bowery on a convenient hilltop that would afford a spectacular view of the proposed "war", the battlefield. Both sets of royals would assemble there, with wine and women, to watch the show, under baskets of flowers and vine canopies. The contesting armies would be marched into the valley, the "arena", and commence hostilities. One side would prevail, take some captives. Then the other side would march back and take some captives. A lot of soldiers would die, a lot others would be maimed. The royals watching from the their flowered deck of wine and women would both cheer. The generals of both armies would declare victory and march home with their captives. Their bosses, the royals, would use a few for displays of human sacrifices to their Gods, the rest would be "booty", the needed increases in their staff of slave labor.

Since we have had a UN, we have been doing pretty much the same thing, over and over again.

It does not in fact matter that we leave Afghanistan with the Taliban even more influential than when we went there. It does not matter that the people running Iraq today are no better than the last tinhat dictator we installed there in the 1970s. All that matters is that our military industry has a continuing string of customers willing to convert drug money or oil money into military hardware, and that the money gets into the banks.

And that our ruling class, including their little political patsies, the Clintons and the Bushes, can have their high life jet-set lifestyles. The po-black boy Obama is not "in their class", really, but will do the same bootshine for the international bankers who've been financing wars since the days of the Medicis in Italy. . . . .

The blood of American patriots means nothing to our political ruling class. The UN is not in any remote sense "democracy", it is fascsim in the pure sense that it is government run by corporate interests.

We will not have "peace" under the UN, and gathering up of guns from little people will not reduce gun production or sales, it will merely cartelize, monopolize, the business of war. It will not change who dies, in the broadest sense. It will only mean that duped patriots will die fighting in uniforms designed by the folks in "boweries", the swank hotels filled with wine and women and UN hacks. But hey, they will still have their parties if delusional po' trailer trash go out to die for their freedom.

The only way our system will be changed is if we just stop supporting the stupid wars, stop buying the propaganda, and stop dividing ourselves into their little categories and stop responding to their manipulations. No don't buy their dope, either.

Sometimes you need to see the big picture and not get mesmerized by little dots in the grain of the pic.

The Next War

So now that we are getting out of the Middle East with essentially a broad field of westernized Islamic fascists in place, we are ready for a new war.

For a long time, our "Hawk" militarist elite, the Carl Rove "moderate Republicans", have been pushing for a war against Islam generally. Russia would be on "our" side in that.

China is using the fuss over Ukraine to assemble/mass troops on the Viet Nam border, while asserting territorial claims on South China Sea oilfields. . . .

But I think there will be some moves in the south Asia field first. Pakistan and India. . . . .

I also think Japan will be building armies/navies/air force.

Lots of customers for military hardware today.

The Big Question

Which war do you want to die for your country in??

I'll make a poll of this one, OK.

Seems like Syria is still in play. However legit or not their electoral process is, they did vote for Assad again recently so if it's important to globalists to get him out of there, they'll need to take it into their own hands. Their proxy mercenaries aren't getting the job done. They need real soldiers in there to reach their goals.

I just read something the other day about there being 1.5 million Chinese citizens living full-time in Africa now too. Purely entrepreneurs and their families because of course you don't move to Africa to mooch off their non-existent safety net. Combine that aspect with when you see things like the KONY thing and then the #Saveourgirls public campaigns, it seems like they're itching to move into Africa. Boko Haram could easily become the new Al Qaeda in the public sphere.

Damn Muricans only want to blow stuff up.

Before the Robber Barons with their Big Business ways got involved in gunpowder (Du Pont), and also Hercules, and Alliant(ATK), the Populist Agrarian sort of family farmers wouldn't have anything to do with furinwars. It took yellow journalism with jingoism to get us to try to be a Johnny-come-lately in the whole Imperialist colonial thing, pretty sure somebody paid somebody a lot to blow up the Maine, and the newspapers made hay with it "Remember the Maine" while Teddy Roosevelt waved his Big Stick, claiming to "speak softly". What a joke that was. But hey, we took Cuba lock, stock and barrel. There were some sugar producers in the beetfields that paid a price for that. U and I.

We promised the filipinos we'd help them win their independence from Spain. They were already fighting for it when Dewey's fleet sailed into Manila harbor. Yah we helped boot out the Spanish, but we stayed, and the filipinos fought us for four more years. That's where we got the words "boondocks" and "amok". Bundok is tagalog for mountains, and "amok" is the guerilla warfare equivalent of unforseen all=out attack by little brown men who'll rush your cannons with clubs and beat the crap out of you.

Our mainstream media got better about getting us into WWI to save the Brit asswipes from their royal cousins. Somebody wrote a song "Over There" and all the pious women of America started pointing at their menfolk, crinkling their noses, and ordering them "Go".

We nearly made it back to sanity though, until the British foreign office somehow induced the Japanese to bomb Pearl Harbor. Rumor has it, FDR knew the attack was coming, but pretended it was a sneak attack so he could get Americans outraged enough to join WWII. He did judiciously get the aircraft carriers out of Pearl on exercises, though. All in all, it ranks right up there with having the CIA asset Islamists fly some airplanes into the Twin Towers to provoke Americans to join a couple more wars, and check in their civil liberties for an authoritarian but empty promise of "safety".

I'm sure it's all purely coincidental, because nobody in their right mind could believe there are interested people on the face of this planet with schemes to make a buck somehow.

The so-called "Communist" Chinese are really looking at the world through Confucian eyes. Long-term vision.

The Chinese graciously allow, or even promote, settlements throughout the world of their people. They go "abroad" away from China with Chinese culture, Chinese business ties, and reverence for their comparatively wise and good government. It helps alleviate the overpopulation problem at home, and builds "foreign relations" everywhere. It's not just Africa where there are growing masses of Chinese people. . . . Brazil, Mexico, even the United States. . . . all of Europe.

Chinese people don't work "under-the-table" for sleasy contractors or at minimum wage for corporate giants. They start their own businesses. A whole family lives in the back room of the Chinese Buffet or whatever the storefront is. They pay sales taxes, and they pay their bills. They are good citizens everywhere. Nobody even notices they are any "problem" because they are naturally considerate of others.

In the long run, the Chinese will own the world.

In the Philippines, they are a pretty well-assimilated part of the culture already.

They really don't need an army, airforce, or navy to be the new age.

I'm going to challenge you on that. Why did you come to that conclusion?

I was wondering about influence the other way.
Could American women even pull off a "Lysistrata" with all the easy liberal females around with no self control.

The only way our system will be changed

Great post.

I think in respect to regional warfare and the like everything changes but everything stays the same. The idea that the Iraq war would have any discernible effect on the "war on terror" is and was laughable on every level. Taking the escalation into Afghanistan was even more folly and just a cover for more money making via the referenced military industry.

Our next stop and some of you have referenced this in other threads is Asia. That WILL be the next area of global significance in respect to a regional struggle. I'd say it's different this time because of all the interconnectedness via trade and currency. It's being called the "asia pivot" in many FP circles.

This video is from 2011...

Here is the article that Mrs. Clinton wrote for FP magazine...also in 2011.

My next read coincidentally is going to be Robert D. Kaplan's Asia's Cauldron. It was just released this year and if I know Mr. Kaplan, it'll be filled with all sorts of prescient material.

He's an absolutely fantastic journalist.

Anyway, the quoted part I used from your original post goes hand in hand with my statement in the amnesty thread and the blatant recidivism of our financial entities in this country. The last remaining power we have as a world populace is where and how we spend our money. This is truer now than it has been at any time in our collective history. Unfortunately, as Americans we have a very short memory especially when it deals with situations that might bring us discomfort in the short but bring us more independence in the long.
