Uncle Toms

I am pretty sure you actually have to be black to be an Uncle Tom.

Or at least you have to be of the given racial background to "Uncle Tom" others of the same race.

Yeah, he's not an Uncle Tom, he's an "uncle tom".

And who gives a **** about these things enough to write an entire page article about them?

Grant Hill did what they teach you to do at Duke - make it about you.

This was a documentary about the fab five and jalen rose was describing his past tense thoughts.

Grant Hill then decided to make it about him completely ignoring the point.

Jason Whitlock is a clown.

The Hoyas were black and won. They proved you can be black and succeed - as long as you're militantly paranoid about it. Thats not a model for success. They emphatically did not change america. THey may have changed basketball but they did not change america.

The Fab Five, and the larger hip hop movement of their time, made it cool/socially OK to be black (especially among younger people). This was a lot more important and successful than the aggressive posturing of the Georgetown/Public Enemy approach.

The Larry Johnson/Stacey Augmon/Greg Anthony/Anderson Hunt Runnin' Rebels are what the Fab Five aspired to be. They never got there.
