There were some big surprises that I would like to see the Jazz go after to see what they can do.

Daishen Nix - 6-5 PG is hot and cold but again very young. See what you can develop

Aaron Henry - Jazz need a defensive wing. If he can develop his 3 point shot to where he was his freshman year (38%) he could be a solid 3 and D player

Vrenz Bleijenbergh - I liked what I saw from this 6-10 wing. He needs help with his shooting but his passing is top notch.

Yves Pons - might be a defensive stopper

Looks like my under-the-radar prototype big wing, Chris Smith, has signed a 2-way deal with the Pistons. Wish the Jazz could have picked him up.

Aaron Henry signed a two way with Philly right after the draft. And Yves Pons signed with the Grizzlies

The Jazz have never signed a top UDFA to my knowledge (Im probably forgetting someone). I dont know what it is, but they just don't seem to value those kinds of players.

I think a lot of it is that those players want to go to a team where they think they can actually get minutes, and Utah just hasnt been that team for a while.

Most of those guys got two way deals locked in immediately I think we like to take a look at summer league first. I wasn't too bummed out but Henry would have been a solid add. I think we are going to see if we need to give a full roster spot to Forrest or if we can keep him on a two way. Our other two-way is likely for Patton or some other summer league guy that shows something good. I think Brantley and Morgan walk.

I bet Forrest is back on a 2-way and that Utah gives the other 2-way to a guy on a different team that they like.

Vrenz was expecting to get picked in the early 2nd round, but it didn't happen. I'm guessing it was with one of OKC's picks or DET's pick that got traded. Vrenz has been offered 2-way contracts, but he can't accept them due to his contract situation in Europe. He says he needs a full contract from the NBA to leave. So for now he's staying in Europe.

Curious to see if a team will gamble on him and offer him a perm contract

Jazz missed out on Dukes Matthew Hurt, who could be a better, cheaper Niang. A 6-foot-9 sophomore developed into one of the nation’s best shooters. Hurt canned 44.4 percent of his 5.3 deep attempts per game, making at least two triples in 15 of Duke’s 24 contests. he averaged 18.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

Wesley Mathews.
