I think this is probably the first thread I have created this year and of course its about Burks.

It could be argued that Burks is having the best season of his career.
He is turning the ball over at a career low. (1.3 Per 36)
He is shooting the three point shot at a career high (48%) and is also attempting more three point shots per game than ever before in his career. (5.3 per 36)
He is getting to the line more than ever before in his career (6.4 attempts per 36)
He is shooting a career high at the line (87%)
Career high in PER
Career high in Win shares
Career high in blocks per game
He is committing the second least fouls of his career
He is close to a career high in assists per 36 this year and seems to really be playing within the system and passing well in general.
His defense is the best I have ever seen from him in his entire career imo.

He is in his prime (still only 27 years old despite being an 8 year vet) and healthy and in a contract year and seems to be the type of player that the jazz need right now while they are struggling as a team.

Despite all of this, he is playing the LEAST AMOUNT OF MINUTES PER GAME IN HIS ENTIRE CAREER! This includes the corbin years when guys like josh howard, cj miles, Richard Jefferson, Jamaal tinsley, randy foye, etc were playing ahead of him even during a tank year and he was getting dnp's on the regular.

WTF

BTW, if we were winning and playing great I wouldn't have even posted this.
I really just want this team to win. The losses lately have got me down and are bumming me out. I feel like Burks could help the team with the way he is playing in relation to the way the team is playing (or not playing).

Oh, and with it being a contract year for Burks it would make sense for us to play him more so that we can know if we want to re-sign him or so he could increase his trade value if we want to go that route rather than just have him walk in the off season.

Also, Burks has been on this team as long as anyone I think (favors might be the only one with more tenure) and has been a good soldier no matter what role (or lack of role) he been asked to provide and no matter how many minutes he has got. Never complained. I think its kinda messed up to play him less than ever before, while he is playing his best, in a contract year right in his prime. Might be his last shot to get a nice contract and he isn't getting on the court enough to maximize it.
I mean Im not saying to start him or play him 30 minutes a game or anything but a career low in minutes? While the team is struggling and he is playing quite good? Doesn't make any sense to me.

If Q changes the starting lineup Burks would be my vote too because he can shoot, get to the line, rebound and close out games. Back-court defense could be problematic, at least for the start, but we don't defend well anyway. At least we would have the league's most athletic backcourt all of a sudden.

DM - Burks - Ingles - Fav - Gobert

We have no easy games until JAN. If we kept piling up Ls it'd not be too unexpected.

AB still pulls up contested long 2s now and then, does not seem a good fit at times. However he worked hard this season, did well in limited minutes and kept his professional attitude so he deserves an opportunity when Rubio is having these mood swings! AB's an extremely talented kid and we should find a way to use him more.

Q allows DM to take 35 shots but sidelines X or Burks for a single mistake. That's not fair, man.

Now give Burks the chance he deserves.

No point in any of this.

We all know the deal with AB and Dante.

Their leashes are that short that Quin always has tension on them just ready to yank.

Kinda weird Quin/FO is looking after Ricky in a contract year and just dismissing Burks.

AB is the only guard with a legitimate beef about playing time... if he was from Australia or Spain the site would crash with all the BS fire Quin threads.

Yeah Andy Larsen had a comment in his article about how playing Ricky instead of Dante last night helps us later because it shows faith in Ricky... isn’t the opposite true... shows lack of faith in Dante and AB. Last night I thought you could make the case for either so I’m not complaining about last night specifically... just thought the comment was interesting.

It is strange how the organization’s faith and patience runs really long with some but others have no leash at all.

Put these in order of “who will be on the roster a year from now at their market level”

Favs
Ricky
AB

Now put them in order of how you would want to order then if the decision was yours or what you think DL should do.

Carmello Anthony, I mean Donovan Mitchell needs to go. 13-35, 1-11 from 3, 0 assists. ZERO ASSISTS. LOL. 0 . Whoever started a thread about bringing in Carmello, you have him already. Won't win crap with this dude.

12-15, 2-3 from 3, 7...count em, 7 assists. And he's an elite defender.

This has been your honest take. Tear it down, trade the me-o.

To be fair, we only have one poster from Spain, who’s living in Utah and was here before Rubio, and isn’t making those arguments. We’ve also got a few solid Australian fans with solid contributions. Then we’ve got a punch of people who aren’t fans at all, and seem to have a huge hatred for Donovan, for the only reason that he’s associated with Simmons and to build up Simmons, you’ve gotta tear Donovan down. Or perhaps Donovan coming in and shining is also viewed as a slight to Exum, so that could be a secondary reason.

That's how my work runs. Same with my wife's work, and the kids soccer team, my kids in school, people at church, that guy who cuts in line at the movies, my wife's sister with her parents. Long ago I knew a girl in High School who had been pulled over 7 times for moving violations but never got a ticket, meanwhile my friend got a $5o fix it ticket for having a loose bolt on a license plate. I had an ancestor who favored one son over all other children and it wrecked lives.

It's not fair is one of the first phrases kids learn and it is reinforced time and time again thoughout childhood, adolescence and right on through adulthood till death.

Sorry. I kinda derailed that, but Jazzfanz is cheaper than therapy.

I’m going to be a new therapist... you give me 1000 dollars and throughout the year i’ll Send random gifts and random checks throughout the year... like those 12 dollar lawyer settlement checks that roll in. I’ll send at lest 500 worth of stuff (minus s&h)... then we will both be happier.

I love my kids... but sometimes I want to throat punch them when they say it’s not fair.

You aren’t wrong though... in my mid 20s I latched on to some specialty CPA work and was carrying 80% of the workload for a 3M practice. We had 2 partners and 2 senior managers... I had to fix all the work the senior managers were working on... and the two partners knew it. The senior managers were older but less experienced in this practice and blew every engagement budget. Both of them ruined client relationships and were asked by clients to no longer be involved. Those guys made 3x as much as me... I saved they asses multiple times. When bonus time came around I got boned hard because we weren’t giving any bonus to people at my level no matter how much they were bringing in... so I should be happy with the small bonus they offered which was literally 10% of what I had been promised when working 70-80 hour weeks.

I literally walked out of that office went to my car and made two phone calls. The next day I had an offer making twice as much as I was currently making. I left 2 weeks later... the assholes tried to sew me and sent me multiple cease and desist letters for over a year. I’m now completely on my own and have a growing practice. They are completely out of the practice because they couldn’t keep clients happy. Doesn’t always work out this way but I was so happy to hear of their failure.

Life ain’t fair... but don’t let that get in your way. Best revenge is living well.

Burks is absolutely getting dicked. It's bull ****.

I’m trying to think what he did last night to get benched... the shot he missed was one he should take... guy went under the pick and he shot the three.
