Hmmmm…I’m open to discuss this. Royce O’Neale was not drafted iirc, played overseas for a year or two, and then came back, right? So should we use the year he could’ve been drafted or his rookie year?

I’m completely open to board consensus here.

I would say that his draft eligible year would be the most appropriate.

I was going to say rookie year, but then I thought about the international stashed players. Would we still count draft year for someone like Tibor Pleiss?

Then again, it could be difficult to say when they would have been drafted. Some people were available in more than 1 draft.

This was my thinking; it would be easier to discover a definitive year if going by rookie year. Also, I don't believe you have to declare for the draft at some point to be signed.

Also, I honestly doubt that there will be anyone who was undrafted, whose rookie year and draft eligible year were different, and who the gap between those years happens to span decade boundaries. I don't think anyone will fit that circumstance in the first 60 picks.

I say no. At no point can a team have any two of their first five players drafted, from the same era.

I agree with this but what if I want to start my sixth pick instead of my fifth? I say we make it mandatory you have to start 5 different players from all 5 of the era’s defined.

See, I like the idea of making it so all of your first 5 picks have to be from different eras, but in terms of matchups we should be able to adjust our lineups however we want.
