What's new

US Moving Embassy

what about truamatizing the kids in their, seeing a screaming mad men with a palestinian shall breaking down windows and storming in
Doesn't look like anyone was inside to me. It's amazing how calm the cops were until one millisecond before they took the guy down.

Looked like the place was empty to me. If there had been people inside they would have come out when the guy was on the ground.

from what i heard in the dutch media is the owner was inside with his wife and kid. and certain jews, stay clear of the street in certain situations. after all self defense is outlawed. you could go outside as a jew and see how and what is happening and then get sucker punched by another one of these savages!
the best thing is to stay inside

dutch law is weird, a friend of mine who was a repo man and a kickboxing champion actually took a beating this one time without throwing a single punch, because he knew as a white dutch man the law would come down on him to the fulelst extend of the law.
non dutch people get benefit of doubts in court.(also happens in germany and other european countries) as judges cite culture shock and culture differences.

safest thing to do is stay inside

cops in holland give you a lot of leeway! they are the friendliest i have met in my travels!

which is good when they deal with civilized western people

Reasonable = agreeing that the Jewish state has a right to exist. I realize that some people don't agree with that.

Moving the US embassy, or not moving the embassy, to Jerusalem has no bearing on whether you think Israel should exist. France came out against this move and they support Israel's right to exist.

But enough about the Jews and their plight. Not the point of my thread and I am not overly concerned on that issue all things considered. Such as their military might and the obvious backing by America.

The original point I hit on was how does this help the US and our goals in the ME. There has not been any attempt to answer that. It's a photo op move that in reality makes things more difficult for us.

So one last time, how does this help the US?

it shows trump did not use false promises to get the otherdox jewish vote, like clinton bush and obama did!

make a promise, get elected, keep the promise!

isnt that what is supposed to happen. keep your word, your word is bond?

it ads to the rputation, if trump says to rocketman. their will be fire and fury. even if the world is against the decision he will do it!

Man, nothing makes sense in this world to me. Trump is crazy.

Also, did you guys notice he totally had a stroke while making the announcement about Jerusalem? Either that or he was drunk.

I don't think Trump could ever gain the high ground when it comes to keeping his word. He often says contradictory things on the same day.

He lies and says grandiose things just for reaction far to often for his word to mean much.

So still nothing. No real reason.

For real though, anyone got an answer? Anyone, bueller, bueller...

Mr. Armchair General, did you listen to his speech about this? I thought it was very presidential and on point. Sometimes you simply have to change course and put your foot down. The old way clearly wasn't working so Trump is using a new approach.

Israel is a peaceful nation and welcoming of Muslims, Christians, and every other faith. They aren't going to demolish the mosque. The ME nations that you are calling on Trump to appease are often the opposite. Maybe it's time for your preference for appeasement to change a little bit.

So nothing other then "at least it is different".

Same response I gave Dutch, good for them but I don't care. About any of them in any real way. I asked how this helps the U.S. and you could not give me a reason. I genuinely wanted to know. And all I have gotten back is deflection to muslims and jews. How trump gave the speech is irrelevant. How does this help the U.S.? Period, that's it.

Thanks for nothing lol.

You've already said that you don't care about people in other countries.

I gave you a reason and you chose to ignore it. Another reason is that it's a step towards conflict resolution. The status quo isn't working and things need to move forward at some point. Another reason is that we have a diplomatic presence there for Palestinian relations (The US Consulate General in Jerusalem). Recognizing Palestine but not our strongest ally in the region makes no sense. This is also a show of strength and a statement that we back Israel's claim to Jerusalem. That's important, unless you're an appeaser.

Your sensationalized armchair tale of Arabs and Muslim nations all becoming irrational over this is not the self-evident fact you believe and portray. It's also degrading to those peoples and continues to deepen this condescending view that they will react irrationally. Saudi Arabia, for example since you mentioned them, is our ally and this embassy isn't coming close to changing that. They don't need to publicly kiss Israel's finger ring. The royal family isn't going to change their tone based on a symbolic embassy move. Arabs and Muslims are people too and they will think things through.

Key fact; this was my, and many others, argument for the ACA.
