Naw... he'll just get a slap on the wrist.

I just saw on the news that his blood alcohol level was 3 times the legal limit. Failed the sobriety test indeed.

Here's dashcam video of the incident.

I am also amazed at some of the comments. "I think we need good football players on our team, especially coming in to the Pac-12." In other words, don't convict him, don't kick him off the team. He's important to our PAC success.

A college kid got drunk? What is this world coming to?

For the record, I don't condone drunk driving. I just don't think it's front page news when some college kid gets busted drinking and driving. Just like I never thought it was a big deal when the BYU football player got busted smoking pot a couple years ago (or was it basketball, can't remember, shows you how much I cared about it).

Polys always have a natural kava level above the legal limit. If you see one on the highway driving next to you, exit promptly at the next off ramp.

He'll plead this down significantly, be suspended three or four games (if it's less than that, I'll never give credence to Utah homers again) and get on with his life. I sincerely hope he learns his lesson here. I worry that he won't because nothing serious happened.

Sounds like Fotu is really messed up. Over 3 times the legal limit is basically binge drinking and the dude was driving down the wrong side of the freeway. That doesn't happen by having 1 too many and getting behind the wheel of a car.

This guy's got problems that extend beyond ever getting back onto the football field. I hope he gets some help.

I hope this player gets a very long suspension. Driving 3X the legal limit is insane. I'm a Utah fan and I hope they give him a very harsh penalty for this. I agree 3-4 games should be a minimum.

I wonder if Salty would have the same opinion if it was a BYU player being busted for a DUI?

And why does age factor into your caring of the DUI? If the person involved were a 30 year old graduate then you'd think it was newsworthy? I'm confused Salty with your logic.

DUI while driving up the wrong side of the highway sounds pretty serious to me. Could have killed someone. Would salty still not think it newsworthy had one of his family members been out driving that night on that road?

Coach whit is once again showing his class by keeping this dumbass on his team with minimal penalty.

There's a lot of stuff I can excuse, but not DUI. Throw the book at him.

1: I wouldn't feel any different if it were a BYU player. In fact a BYU player got busted for DUI a couple years ago and I don't recall ever posting about it.

2: Being older means he should make better choices, but it still wouldn't be front page worthy, in my opinion.

3: If he hurt someone, that would be newsworthy. He didn't hurt anyone, so it's not front page worthy, in my opinion.

If this was the SEC it wouldn't be a big deal. Keep it in perspective.

College kids drink, even binge drink. It's a fact of life. Sure, driving the wrong way while 3 times the legal limit is not good. But it isn't front page material either.

3x the legal limit guys. Incredible.

Not for a pro, that's just standard.

I agree they should throw the book at him. However, three times the legal limit is probably any seasoned party-ers puke limit. Driving is the real mistake here, and there's no excuse for such *****eadery.

Did BYU Fan really think that Ute Fans were going to defend a guy who did what Fotu is charged with doing?
