Utah has claimed forward Malcolm Thomas off waivers, league sources tell Yahoo. San Antonio waived Thomas on Thursday.

Very interesting, I don't think I know that much of him. Maybe some trades coming??!?!?!

Highlights of the one game he appeared in for the spurs this year.

Saw that.... maybe to fill Hayward's gap created since he will be traded to the Celtics soon ?

I don't know any thing about him. Interesting pick up, not sure why the Jazz do this right now though. Right after guarantee Clark and Garrett's contracts for the year.

Pretty impressive game that he had right here.

Spurs opt'ed to guarantee his contract through the end of the season 3 weeks ago and then waived him on Thursday to pick up Jeffers? Sounds a little strange.

With the injury to Green and Leonard they needed a wing and they didn't have any more roster spots.

I bet the Jazz plan on sitting Favors and Kanter more and need someone to fill minutes.

Thomas played for the Spurs a couple years ago, so possible that Lindsay scouted him at some point and liked him.

Only one game for the Spurs this season, but he grabbed 9 boards in 15 minutes.

Could mean a trade is brewing, or could just mean he's a prospect that they wanted to take a look at. Still, couldn't they have let his contract expire and then pick him up on a 10-day? Unless they knew someone else wanted him, that would have worked.
